Sacred Heart Altar Society Holds Meeting

The Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on Monday, April 3, in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Parish Center. The meeting was opened with a prayer followed by the standard reports by the secretary, treasurer, and assistant treasurer. Fourteen ladies attended the meeting.

There was no correspondence to be read however a verbal thank you was heard on behalf of a member unable to attend.

Under the Service Commission, Nina Blaha reported sending get well cards to members in need. Barbara Schellberg reported on the CEF Enrollments sent by the Altar Society to two members celebrating over 90 birthdays. Judy Langhamer informed members that one funeral lunch had been served during the previous month and gave the financial report of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Anna Boyd informed members that Sacred Heart volunteers were scheduled at Second Chance during the week beginning April 18- 24.

Under the Leadership Commission, Trish Pechal reported that one new member had been approved by Father Brian and a pending application had also received approval. It was also reported that the last meeting report had been sent to the Fayette County Record.

Under unfinished business members were informed that the Bakeless Bake Sale continues to be on going. President Janda expressed her thanks for those who participated in the Stations of the Cross. After discussion, it was decided to add the cleaning of holy water fonts after weekend Masses and the upkeep of the Holy Water container to the list of duties for the weekly cleaning groups. Alaina Wallace volunteered to update and maintain the cleaning supplies for the work sacristy. There will be no delegate attending the ADCCW convention this year.

Under new business, the quarterly meeting of the Brenham/ La Grange deanery was reported.

Having no further business to discuss, attendance prizes were drawn and distributed. President Karen Janda led the members in a closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned.
