    RT-Carmine 4-H to Offer Pet Vaccination Clinic

The Round Top-Carmine 4-H Club is sponsoring a vaccination clinic for dogs and cats on Thursday, May 7. They will be at the Round Top Rifle Hall from 5-6 p.m. and then at the Carmine Hall from 6:15-7 p.m.

Services include a Rabies vaccine for cat or dog-$12; Full dog work-up (DAPP, L4, and Rabies)-$46; full cat work-up (FVRCP, L4, and Rabies)-$ 56; Rattlesnake vaccine (dog only)-$20; and Bordetella vaccine (dog only)-$18.

Museum Clean-Up Day The Carmine Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a clean-up day at the Carmine Museum and Visitor Center on Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. - noon.

Come out and see the artifacts displayed at the museum and lend a hand with some dusting and cleaning. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP or just show up. All ages are welcome. For questions contact Courtney Kieke at (512) 983-1115.

RT-C School News 

High School baseball team hosts Burton on April 21 at 5:30 p.m. It will be senior appreciation day. The team travels to Burton on April 24 to play at 5:30 p.m. UIL baseball playoffs will be held April 30 to May 2. Listen to the radio for current information.

Science 8 STAAR and Biology EOC testing is on April 21. Social Studies 8 STAAR and US History EOC is on April 23.

April 24 and May 11 are student holidays and professional development days for staff.

The last day of classes is on May 15 with dismissal at 12:30 p.m.

RT-C FFA is sponsoring a Fishing Tournament on Friday, April 24 beginning at 6 a.m. Sign-up is on the day of the tournament with cash due before the awards are presented. Weigh-in is at 3 p.m. Fish must be alive and caught in fresh local waters only. The Texas Parks & Wildlife rules must be followed. RT-C FFA is not responsible for violations.

Go to the RTC website for more information. Payout will be fifty percent for the first three places in each category. Contestants must take a picture to time-stamp each catch.

Bingo at Carmine Hall 

The next Bingo at the Carmine Hall will be on Friday, May 1. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. Food and drinks are available for sale.

It is located at 300 N Hauptstrasse in Carmine. Twelve regular games and two cover-all games are played. It benefits the Carmine Cedar Creek Schuetzen Verein for renovations to the historic building.

Rebekah Group Meeting The Rebekah Group of MLLC met on April 9 with seven members present. They were Joys Baird, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Susan Ray, Sharon Rhome, Dianna Gerland, and Nancy Eilers The Bible study was led by Susan with the theme “I AM, God’s Name, God’s Promise,” Session 2-Gate and Shepherd: Guiding and Protecting Us.

Joys gave the offering meditation with Matthew 28:5-6 as the theme verses.

A thank-you card was received from Ray Ullrich for the birthday card sent to him.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief will be on April 13. Baby Care kits will be assembled and packed on April 16 at 9 a.m.

A party will be held at Silversage in Brenham on May 5 at 2 p.m. A party has been booked at Bec’s Blessing in Giddings on August 26.

May is the month for donations for the AMEN food pantry. That food will be used, along with others that may be brought, to decorate for the June 3 Women of the ELCA salad supper. The theme is “Feeding the Multitude.”

Carol Carmean was the birthday celebrant for April.

Hostesses were Diana Wunderlich and Sharon Rhome.

Visitors’ Center 

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot and Museum is open on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. It is located at 248 E Sylvan, Carmine, TX 78932, which is on the south side of Hwy. 290.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meet on Wednesday at 8:30 in the Mission & Ministry Building. Please pick up meals by 11:30 a.m.

AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Fourth Sunday of Easter is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Weiss serving as the guest pastor.
