    Round Top Young Farmers Family Night July 21

Round Top Young Farmers Family Night is scheduled for Thursday, July 21. All members and their families are invited to enjoy a catered chicken fried steak meal at a cost of $5 per person. The social hour will start at 6:30 p.m. and the meal will be served at 7:30 p.m. Anyone can bring snacks or dessert. A silent auction will be held for the scholarship program. Anyone wishing to donate auction items please bring them. Annual dues will be accepted at the meeting.

Movie Night

The next movie night hosted by Round Top Lions Club in conjunction with hamburger night at the Round Top Rifle Hall will be “Spirit Untamed” on July 18. Buy a burger meal and enjoy a free movie. Movies begin at 6:30 p.m.

Round Top Rifle Hall

The Round Top Rifle Hall Monday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Live Events

Darrel Appelt will perform at Busted Oak Cellars located at 6195 Round Top Road Saturday, July 16 from 3-6 p.m. Bingo Night is scheduled for Thursday, July 21 from 6-8 p.m. $5 will get you a bingo card and the option to play until prizes have run out. Frank Martin Gilligan will take the stage Saturday, July 23, from 4-7 p.m., followed by Jerry Moreno on Sunday, July 24, from 2-5 p.m.

The last Wednesday of each month, Blue Mule Winery hosts Red’s Terrific Trivia from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Come out to win prizes, trophies and make new friends. Teams welcome.

The Stone Cellar is closed for the remainder of July through the month of August for repairs and remodeling. The venue will reopen after Labor Day Weekend.

Festival Hill

The 2022 Round Top Music Festival is wrapping up this weekend at Festival Hill. Saturday’s events include 2022 Percussion Section Showcase at 1:30 p.m., Closing Chamber Music Concert at 3:30 p.m., and Texas Festival Orchestra closing concert at 7:30 p.m. For a full list of performers, or to purchase tickets, visit festivalhill.org.

Round Top Family Library

Round Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:30- 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. A low-impact strength training class will meet July 20 and 27 at 10 a.m. Please bring light weights for this class. Summer Chess Club is for ages 7 – adult. They meet every Wednesday in June and July from 2-3 p.m.

Kids S.E.E. presents “The Wonderful World of Water” Thursday, July 21 at 4 p.m. Dive into stories, songs and science with storyteller, musician and author, Kim Lehman. She will entertain young and old with tales and tunes about creatures that live in the water. Great fun for the whole family. This is a free program, open to the public. No registration required. Please bring your picnic blanket or lawn chair.

The library will celebrate the close of the summer S.E.E. program with an Ocean Dance Party for Kids Thursday, July 28 from 2:30-5 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall. DJ Country Chick will be there to play music to rock out on the ocean floor. Come and enjoy this fun family dance party. Drop off and pick up is at the Rifle Hall. Snacks and drinks will be served.

Books, Boots & BBQ

The library’s annual fundraiser, “Books, Boots & BBQ” is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10. Reserve your table now before they sell out. Raffle tickets are currently available - only 300 will be sold.

Round Top-Carmine ISD

RT-C ISD is currently accepting transfer applications for the 2022-2023 school year. Transfer packets can be printed from the district website rtcisd. net or picked up at either school office. For more information call the district at (979) 249-3200.

Sons of Hermann

The next meeting will be held July 28. The new serving committee for the next three months will be Mary and Melanie Rauch, Bob and Betty Porter, and Jeff and Cathy Gau.

Lunch Bunch

There will not be a lunch bunch meeting in July. Ruth Elvig will host the meeting in August.

Round Top Historical Society

Come and tour the museum campus for free. The RTAHS museum has free admission every second Saturday of the month from 1-4 p.m. There are three historical homes and a historical church. St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Warrenton holds a monthly service at 8 a.m. for the intentions left on the altar. This month’s mass was held Tuesday, July 5. View the bulletin online at stjohnfayetteville.com for more information on upcoming services.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday School is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Adult Bible Study is held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Vacation Bible School will be Held Wednesday, July 27 – Friday, July 29 from 5:30-8 p.m., followed by closing worship Sunday, July 31. The Bethlehem Lutheran Church Ruth Circle met for bible study on Thursday, July 7. Pastor John David Nedbalek led the study, which continued the series “Crafted in Christ.” This series uses the analogy of quilting as a framework for understanding the messages from Scripture. The group studied two letters of Paul - one to the Philippians (“cutting” less meaningful aspects of our lives to focus on the value of knowing Christ) and one in 2 Corinthians (“piecing” together a new creation made possible in Christ and allowing reconciliation to God). After the discussion, hostess Patty Royal served delicious refreshments, banana pudding, fruit salad and caramel chocolate chip cookies. The next bible study will be Aug. 4 at 9:30 a.m. All are invited to join.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds Worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee, and Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.. Game Day is held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Bring a snack, board game, dominoes, etc. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.
