Round Top Singers Forming, Seeking Local Voices

Seeking local voices for a new choral group supported by a grant from Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church Love to sing? The Round Top Singers, a local choral group is now forming and welcoming locals to join this exciting new ensemble. Funding for the group is provided through a music grant from Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church of Round Top (The Haw Creek Chapel) in Henkel Square.

The Round Top Singers organization is open to any singer. There will be a series of performances, concerts and special services throughout the year with guest conductors from Texas and beyond.

The first rehearsal for the Round Top Singers will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the church. A second rehearsal will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22 the First Sunday in Lent—at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel at Festival Hill. At 5 p.m. that day, Organist/Choirmaster Andrew Bowen (former Music Director at Houston’s historic Trinity Episcopal Church) will direct the debut performance of Choral Evensong, one of the most beloved services in the Anglican Choral Tradition. Guest singers from College Station and Houston will join in for this special evening.
