The Round Top Schützen Verein Preservation Inc is gearing up for the big 250th Fourth of July celebration. A major fundraiser for RTSVP is their annual raffle. The big drawing will be held on the 4th of July.

Local and area businesses and families are invited to please become raffle sponsors. Sponsors will be recognized in signage and announcements.

If you are interested in being a sponsor, you can call (979) 530-5604 or mail your tax-deductible donation to RTSVP at P.O. Box 331 in Round Top.

RT-C 4-H 

The Round Top-Carmine 4-H club will be holding a catdog vaccination clinic on May 7 from 5-6 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall and from 6:15-7 p.m. at the Carmine Hall. A rabies shot (dog or cat) will be $12 per pet. Full workups will be available, too. A dog DHLP + Rabies will be $46. A cat FVRCP + rabies will be $56. A rattlesnake vaccine will be $20.

Round Top Family Library A few spots are left for RTFL’s Summer Camps. They have an incredible offering of classes including animal science, arts and literacy, arts and crafts, cooking, creative writing, gardening, life skills, science club and theater. The line up of classes, times, and ages is available on the website. Online registration is required at www.ilovetoread.org under Children’s Programs.

Round Top Family Library is honoring the amazing volunteers that help make all programs and events a reality. A reception to honor volunteers is scheduled for Friday, April 24 from 4-6 p.m. under the live oak trees at the beautiful library campus. Everyone is welcome to come out to say thank you to the amazing volunteers and if you are a volunteer, please attend to receive the appreciation you deserve.

Louie Sellers will be leading a wonderful group of musicians for an Acoustic Jam Session on Saturday, April 18, at 11:30 a.m. in the Main Library. Anyone is welcome to join the acoustic jam session or to drop in to listen to great music.

If you are interested in learning or playing Mahjong, RTFL hosts The Bluebonnet Mahjong Society in the historic Rummel Haus every Thursday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. for open play. Private mahjong lessons are available by contacting the library at (979) 249-2700.

Fitness classes are offered five days a week at Round Top Family Library. Yoga is offered at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, muscle/core training classes on Tuesdays at 7:30 or 9 a.m., Yoga on Wednesday mornings at 9 a.m., chair yoga on Thursdays at 10 a.m., and muscle/core training on Fridays at 7:30 a.m. or 9 a.m. All fitness levels are welcome to attend. All class times can be found on the calendar at www. ilovetoread.org. Classes are free and open to the public.

RTFL’s FYI Presents … an evening of history, storytelling, and a little adventure with returning speaker Jane Wood on Thursday, May 14 at 7 p.m. In celebration of our country’s 250th year, Jane is back to share more insights on the Lewis and Clark Expedition, including a fascinating new Texas connection.

RT-C ISD 

On Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m., the RT-C Boys Baseball team will host Burton at Carmine High School. This will also be Senior Appreciation Night. April 24 will be a Student Holiday/Staff Development Day.

The RT-C Boys HS Baseball team will play Burton at Burton at 5:30 p.m. on April 24.

It’s playoff time for the RT-C Baseball team, and official 2026 Playoff shirts can now be ordered. The shirts feature the Country Roads design on the front and the full team roster on the back. RT-C FFA invites everyone to join them for a full day Fishing Tournament on Friday, April 24, beginning at 6 a.m., with weigh-in at 3 p.m. Tournament details are as follows: 1. Sign up is day of event. 2. Fish must be alive. 3. Fresh local waters only. 4. Everyone must follow the Texas Parks & Wildlife rules. Categories will be: Individual/Heaviest Bass, Individual/Heaviest Catfish, Team (3 people)/Heaviest 3 Bass Stringer, and Team (3 people)/Heaviest 3 Catfish Stringer. A picture must be taken to timestamp each catch.

RT Rifle Association Hall Monday, April 20, will be “Monday Night Burgers.” The Round Top Rifle Association hosts the Monday night social on the first, second, and third Mondays of each month for community fellowship. Volunteers serve classic burgers, hot dogs, breaded chicken sandwiches, fries and onion rings. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.with food served from 6-8 p.m. The hall has an open bar with drinks for sale. Proceeds benefit the Round Top Rifle Association. Homemade desserts are available each Monday by various charity organizations to help raise money for their individual causes. The community is always invited.

Animal Shelter Gala 

The Vanity Fur “Mutt Gala” & Fashion Extravaganza will be held from 6-10 p.m. on May 16 at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall. This event will benefit the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. For more info, go to https://ams.s3onegoal.com/ online/766/home.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church On April 19, Bethlehem Lutheran will hold Sunday morning worship service with communion at 9:30 a.m. Pastor John David Nedbalek will be officiating.

On May 3, Bethlehem Lutheran Church will be holding their annual fundraiser at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall. At 10 a.m., there will be a lively polka and praise service. From 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. a fried chicken meal will be served. Tickets are $18 per plate. The church is also holding a raffle with 36 prizes. The drawing will be held on Sun., May 3, at the annual chicken fry. Raffle ticket prices are $20 each or 3 for $50. Raffle and/or meal tickets can be purchased at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church office, Round Top State Bank, Round Top Mercantile, or from any BLC church member.

St. John Lutheran Church St. John, Warrenton, will hold their Sunday morning worship service on April 19 at 8:30 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church St. Paul’s, Shelby, will hold their Sunday morning worship service on April 19 at 8:30 a.m. with worship and communion. Fellowship, coffee, and Sunday School will follow at 9:30 a.m.
