Round Top Library Wranglers Gala Sept. 9

The annual Wranglers Gala benefiting the Round Top Family Library is Saturday, Sept. 9 at Windy Knoll. Raffle tickets are now being sold to win a 2023 Club Car Onward. Drawing will be held the night of the gala - you don’t need to be there to win. Tickets for the Gala were sold out in record time. If you are interested in attending, please call the library to be put on the waiting list.

School is Back in Session

School pictures for Round Top-Carmine ISD are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 24.

The following Friday students have a 12 p.m. release.

No classes Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of Labor Day.

Monday Burger Social

Mark on your calendars a change for the Monday Night Hamburger Social in September. The social will not take place on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4. The social will resume the following week - so burgers only the second and third Monday in September.

Typically the Monday Night Hamburger Social takes place the first, second and third Mondays each month starting at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA.

Live Music

Busted Oak Cellars has Nathan Hinojosa on Friday, Aug. 18 from 6-9 p.m., Mike Gallo Saturday, Aug. 19, from 4-7 p.m., and Mitch Marcoulier Sunday, Aug. 20, from 2-5 p.m. Next week is Open Mic Night on Friday, Aug. 25.

The Stone Cellar has Briana Adams Friday, Aug. 18 from 7-10 p.m., and the Risky Liver Band Saturday from 7-10 p.m. There are several artists and events lined up for the Fall Antique show and some require advance tickets. Visit 1hes1onecellar1x.com for more information.

Round Top C of C Social

The August Chamber social will be Thursday, Aug. 24, from 5-7 p.m. at the Mark Speakeasy. This month’s event is hosted by The Poppy and The Stone Cellar.

Town of Round Top

The Round Top Town Council meetings are held the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall located at 100 Main Street unless otherwise posted. Citizens are encouraged and welcome to attend. Agendas are posted on the website at www.townofround1op. org at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

Round Top Family Library

Saturday, Aug. 26 from 1-3 p.m. Bren Hardt, a retired teacher and CNVC certified facilitator will present a workshop based on her book which has sold over three-million copies: Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life”. Learn to create thriving relationships at home, work, or anywhere.

Sunday, Aug. 27, is the Senior Citizen Gaming party from 2-4 p.m. Come enjoy fellowship and win a prize. Refreshments served. This is free and open to the public.

Festival Hill

On Saturday, Aug. 26, enjoy a Split Second Piano Ensemble, as part of the August to April Series at Festival Hill. “Four hands, two keyboards... a rich combination of sounds and colors featuring pianists Roberto Hidalgo and Marc Peloquin.” Lunch is available with reservations. Bethlehem Lutheran Church holds services with Pastor John David Nedbalek Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school is the first Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Ruth Circle is the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Sewing Circle is the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. Pastor John David leads adult bible study the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. Church Council will meet Aug. 20 following Worship.

BLC Bible Study was held Thursday, Aug. 3, with the topic “Salvation Now.” Pastor Nedbalek led the discussion of looking at the needs of the world and responding with service. We are Christians because Jesus is risen from the dead. God’s agenda is life by grace through faith with joyful living. Let us all extravagantly share, participate in, and live out joy. Sedalia Ullrich served as hostess. The next gathering will be Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby holds worship service at 8 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. Game Day is held the first Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Quilting meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.

An ice cream social is scheduled for Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Education Building! The ladies salad supper will be held at 4 p.m. on Aug. 27. Please bring a salad and invite some friends. The annual church service in the historical church across the road will be Sept. 24 at 8 a.m., followed by the church picnic in the education building.
