Round Top Family LibraryRound Top Family Library is open Monday-Friday from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Adult Yoga meets Mondays at 5 p.m. An adult exercise class will take place Wednesdays in August at 10 a.m. Please bring a light setof hand weights and a mat.FYI presents Gilbert Franke Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. Franke will speak about the poems of Clara Jo Rummel (1876 - 1926.) After the talk, the group will walk over and visit the Rummel Haus, now owned andcared for by the RTFL.CPR & AED Training with Mark Woelfel for adults 16 years and older will take place Saturday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the library annex. Class is limited to 10 people. Call the library to sign up for this freeclass.The Library’s annual fundraiser, “Books, Boots & BBQ” is set for Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. This fundraiser benefits the RTFL and helps fund the programs throughout the year. Tickets have sold out but a waiting list is available. Several underwriting opportunities are available. Don’t forget about the raffle – first prize is a fully butchered calf, and second prize is a $1,000 Mastercard … only 300 tickets will be sold. Round Top-Carmine ISDRTCISD is accepting transfer applications for the upcoming school year. Transfer packets can be printed from the district website,www.rtcisd.net,or picked up at either school office. All transfer requests are reviewed by the transfer committee.

The 7th Grade Welcome Walk is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. Elementary Meet the Teacher Night is Monday, Aug. 15 from 5-6 p.m., while High School Back to School Night is 5:30-6:30 p.m. The first day of classes isWednesday, Aug. 17.RTC FFA will meet the first Thursday of each month during the school year at 6 p.m. The first meeting is set for Thursday, Sept. 1. All meetings are open to Junior FFA and FFA membersas well as parents.The school supply list for elementary students is now available on the school’s website.

Round Top Rifle HallThe Round Top Rifle HallMonday Night Hamburger Social is the first through third Monday of each month. The Hall opens at 5:30 p.m., and the order window is open from 6-8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the RTRA. Round Top Sons of HermannThe Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge 151 met recentlly.President, Lila Garlin, called the regular monthly meeting to order at the American Legion Hall on Thursday, July 28 at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Earl Frenske and Barnell Albers werewelcomed as guests.Jo Ann Ullrich had surgery and is doing rehab at home; Melanie Rauch had carpal tunnel surgery and is on the mend.

Linda Mattocks’agent report mentioned the new president, Robin Czarnek. Next agent’s meeting will be Sept. 8 - 10. The home office is working on putting everything on computer. There are new agents in north and northwest Texas. Medicare supplemental insurance will bethe next new sale.The annual fundraiser will be the Country Store, held at the LedbetterVolunteer Fire Department on Oct. 8. The Ledbetter Homemakers club will be selling desserts to add to the fried chicken meal, so baked items are not needed. Members are asked to bring home canned vegetables, pickles, jellies, homemade bread, eggs, plants, pumpkins orany homemade craft.Happy birthday was sung to LaVerne Albers for her birthdayon July 31.Attendance prizes were won by Mert Meinkowksy, Betty Porter, Earl Fenske, Leonard Meinkowsky and Bob Porter.

Fellowship with a brunch of sandwiches, chips, veggies, and lots of desserts and refreshments was enjoyed by all. Next meetingwill be Aug. 25. Dinner will be served; members are asked tobring desserts.
