It will be an evening of live music by the Black Cat Choir, dinner, drinks, and dessert. All goods and services are being donated. JB was seriously burned in a grease fryer accident while preparing food during the 4th of July parade at their Royer’s Round Top Café.
All money raised at the fundraising event will go towards medical bills, travel back and forth to Austin for wound care, medication, and many other necessary expenses.
Travel
Suzanne and Ed Ellis just returned home from a fabulous two-week vacation. They took the Douro River Cruise from Lisbon to Porto. It was a serene journey through Portugal and Spain. Highlights of their trip were the beautiful views of the countryside as they sailed along the river, visiting local vineyards, historic villages, a cork factory, and learning the history of the beautiful Cathedral at Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
What’s Happening?
For the last 13 years, Carolyn McNellie, has opened the doors of her Round Top Coffee Shop not only to the community of Round Top, but also to students who spend their summers in Round Top. Each summer, she provides free drinks to the students of Festival Hill and Shakespeare Winedale. Her Coffee Shop becomes a welcoming homeaway- from-home for students, staff, teachers, and conductors. They can gather to visit, talk, play games, listen to music, and even have a cozy and comfortable place to discuss their career and life choices. Carolyn also has an annual tradition of hosting a dinner for each of the groups around the end of their summer stays in Round Top. She loves giving them not only a taste of southern food, but a big serving of southern hospitality, as well. At her last dinner in early July, she graciously served about 80 people in and around her Coffee Shop. The students are very appreciative, and our community is blessed to have Carolyn and her Round Top Coffee Shop.
