Lehmann Reunion Celebrates 35-Year Tradition in Warda
The annual Herman and Hulda (Moerbe) Lehmann Reunion was held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the home of Douglas and Lorie Lehmann of Warda. This reunion started in 1991 so the family members celebrated 35 years of getting together The oldest member attending was George Berry. The youngest attendee was Everett Yarusso. The member who traveled the furthest was Brittany Crowley and the closet attendees were Douglas and Lorie Lehmann. The longest married couple was George and Cora Berry and the newly married couple was Kevin and Jen Berry.
The next reunion will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2027.
Winchester VFD Fish Fry
Winchester VFD Annual Fish Fry will be held Saturday, July 25 at St. Michael’s pavilion in Winchester. The meal will be served from 5-7 p.m. Dine in or take-out. A free will offering will be collected. Silent auction will run from 4-6 p.m. with the live auction starting at 6 p.m. Raffle tickets will be available before the event. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come out and support their local Winchester Fire Department.
Camp Lone Star Annual BBQ
Camp Lone Star in La-Grange will have their Annual BBQ Auction and Fundraiser on Sunday, July 26. The day will start with special music at 10:30 a.m. followed by an outdoor worship service at 11 a.m., barbecue meal at noon and the benefit auction from 1-3 p.m. The swimming pool will be open from 1-2:30 p.m. Each year the camp served over 11,000 individuals through retreats, outdoor education and summer camps. They are looking for donations of quality auction items. Summer Camp registration, including their day camp program, for campers age 5-18 is also open. Register at www. camplonestar.org.
Serbin Jackrabbits
The Serbin Jackrabbits will play their next game on Sunday July 19 in the semifinal playoffs in La Grange.
Blazing Saddles Race
Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda will host the Blazing Saddles all day race on Aug. 15.
Sewing Circle at Holy Cross
The Sewing Circle meets each Thursday from 9 a.m.noon in the old parish hall at Holy Cross in Warda. This is around the back side of the church. No experience is necessary and you do not have to be a church member to join this fun group. Contact the church office at (979) 2423333 if you have any questions.
Game Day at Holy Cross
The next Game Day at Holy Cross in Warda will be held Thursday, Aug. 20 from noon-2 p.m. A light lunch is served. There is no cost to attend and everyone is welcome. Games of bingo and dominoes are offered.

Holy Cross Church Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 6 in Warda and the 38th Annual Wendish Fest to be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 in Serbin.
Rain in Area
Several readers in our area received some small but very welcomed rain showers the second week of July and more rain is in the forecast. Prayers that we get some much-needed rain.
Holy Cross Services
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
