Rodeo Must Go On: One Dry and One Wet Night

“Cowboys don’t get rained out. They get rained on.” – so said the organizers of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo when showers threatened the second night of rodeo action on Saturday, April 20. Bullriders had a tough time staying seated in the wet conditions as the rodeo arena turned into a sheet of mud. Despite the weather, a decent crowd still showed up to enjoy the show, mostly donned in raincoats and rubber boots. The Doc West Band closed out both nights with a dance under the pavilion. Photo by Andy Behlen Ben Jantzen from Germany was in Fayette County on vacation as part of his first ever visit to the USA last week and visited the Sheriff’s Posse rodeo on Friday night when the weather was perfect. He took some great photos and contacted us and asked if we would like to print some. “I like the county so much,” Jantzen told us. “I’m going to go back to Germany soon and just want to give something back, to all the wonderful and nice people that I met.
