Road Widening Will Cost $112 Million

At its Jan. 17 meeting in Austin, the Texas Transportation Commission awarded a massive maintenance and improvement project bid that will impact this area.

Hunter Industries of San Marcos won the contract to widen road and add lanes with a bid of $112,692,655.90 on US 77 from SH 71 to 0.56 miles north of County Road 156. The length of the road-widening project is 12.328 miles along Highway 77.
