Retired Teachers Meet in Flatonia
The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association visited Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia on Monday, Feb.13. Fifteen were in attendance; all enjoyed the delicious food and lively fellowship. The group is trying out having a field trip schedule in the months that have no meeting dates; so far, it has been met with favorable responses.
The 2023-2024-membership drive begins in March. State dues are $35 per person, local dues are $5 per person, making a total of $40 owed by each member. If your state dues are paid through TRS as a deduction or bank draft, amount owed is $5. Instructions for paying dues: (1) You may pay in March by mail (no meeting), or at any future meetings. (2) If you are unable to attend the April meeting, and wish to mail in your dues: Checks payable to TRTA 2023-2024 dues in the “Memo” line on check. Future dates to remember: Monday, March 13, no meeting, due to scheduling conflicts; Monday, April 10, next regularly-held meeting at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall located at 1215 Von Minden in La Grange; Wednesday, April 12, Day at the Capitol (all members strongly urged to attend - details to follow via emails and in the March Fayette County newspapers); Thursday, May 11, District 13 Spring Conference in Kyle; Monday, June 12, last meeting of the spring.
