MS 150 Looking for Local Volunteers
On April 25-26, cyclists will ride for a cure for MS and roll through La Grange. Volunteers are needed at Fayette County Fairgrounds to cheer on riders, support team tents, assist with bike loading, and more. Additional volunteers are also needed on April 25 at the Rohan Meadery Rest Stop to refuel cyclists and keep the energy high. A Fayetteville Easter Egg Hunt at the Fayetteville Courthouse will be held on March 28, from 10 a.m. - noon. Enjoy a bounce house, Easter Egg hunt, bake sale, prizes and many other fun things.
Nature Tour
Come to Winedale on Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m. for a guided look at Winedale’s frontier landscape with a Texas Master Naturalist. The Lewis-Wagner House will be open for tours afterward. This is a free event and no registration is required.
Bethlehem AME
Bethlehem AME Church will have a special Palm Sunday Service on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. The church is located at 5218 FM 3233 in La Grange.
County Convention
The Fayette County Republican Party will conduct all precinct conventions and county convention on Saturday, March 28, starting at 9 a.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Building located at 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange. The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will host their KC BBQ Sunday, March 29. BBQ chicken and sausage to-go (drive-thru) will be available from 10:30 a.m to 12 noon at the KC Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. St. James Palm Sunday Service
St. James Episcopal Church will present its annual Palm Sunday Services on Sunday, March 29. This year, congregants will conduct a dramatic reading of the Passion according to Matthew at both morning services. All are welcome. St. James is the historic church across from the La Grange H-E-B. Lenten Cantata Palm Sunday
The First Presbyterian Church Choir presents the Lenten Cantata “In Calvary’s Shadow” by Victor C. Johnson during the 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday service on Sunday, March 29. This beautiful cantata invites the faithful to experience Jesus’ journey from betrayal through Crucifixion with a tightly woven tapestry of Scripture readings, choral anthems, and congregational singing. Accompaniment will be provided by instrumentalists Ruth Connelly (cello), Ian Schroeder (saxophone), and Miles Gillette (piano/organ). Narration provided by Shep and Oliver Gunn. Visitors welcome.
Fayetteville Speaker Series
The third speaker in the Fayetteville Community Center’s Speaker Series is this Sunday, March 29 at 3 p.m. Fayette County resident, Peter Farrow, will speak about his 46 years long pursuit of solar eclipses across the globe. He has traveled to see 17 solar eclipses, 15 of which have been total eclipses where the sun is completely blocked by the moon and daylight turns into night. This “Totality” is something to be experienced, not simply a visual phenomenon. In this presentation Peter discusses the geometry of a Total Solar Eclipse and the challenges of being in the right place and time to view and photograph them. Peter has given this talk on numerous cruise ships and in various venues. The Fayetteville Community Center is located at 107 W. Fayette St. on the town square. The Speaker Series is supported by a grant from Second Chance Emporium. This event is free and all are welcome. Beverages will be served.

Fayette County Beekeepers Association The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, April 4, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange (255 Svoboda Ln). The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. members and guests will enjoy a potluck dinner. Following dinner, the club will conduct its regular business meeting and then welcome this month’s guest speaker, Bill Baxter, assistant chief Apiary Inspector with the Texas Apiary Inspection Service. Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold a Spring fundraiser on Saturday, April 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Lodge hall.
