Film Showing 

There will be a showing of the film “Crosby” at La Grange Church of Christ on Sunday, March 8 at 9 a.m. followed by a question and answer period with Lorenza Crosby, Jackson Elliott, and others featured in the film. The film was directed by LGISD student Jackson Elliott and it made it to the state semi-finals. The film is about the life of Lorenza Crosby and his time as a teacher at Randolph High School and later La Grange High School. This showing is open to the public. Coffee and donuts will be available.

FCCT Auditions

Auditions for the Fayette County Community Theatre’s spring production will be Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. and Monday, March 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater. The spring production will be The Curious Savage by John Patrick held May 1-3. This comedy features a wealthy widow, Ethel Savage, who is committed to a sanitarium by her greedy stepchildren to get her fortune. She befriends the other residents while foiling the attempts of her stepchildren.

Community Prayer Gathering

Everyone is invited to the monthly Community Prayer Gathering, an area wide multi-church sponsored event, meeting the first Sunday of each month at Redimidos Por Cristo Church is located across the street from Tejas Healthcare at 131 S. College St. in La Grange beginning at 5 p.m. Please join us as we pray for our local community, our nation and our world.

Habitat For Humanity ReStore

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is open for sales and donation drop-offs every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 825 N. Main St. in Schulenburg. The ReStore sells and accepts donations of home goods to support Habitat’s mission. Visit www.fchfh.org/ReStore.

Sealy Lions Dance

The Lions Sealy Dance will be held on Saturday, March 7, at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St., Sealy. The band, Lost Cause, will be providing live music from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Adult Technology Training

Come the Fayette Public Library for Adult Technology Training in La Grange on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. - noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. If your computer is giving you problems, bring it along. Six seats are available. Registration is required. Call (979) 968-3765 to sign up.

Bingo in Ledbetter

Bingo for seniors 60 and older, plus guests, will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, March 8 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips, snacks and drinks will be available for freewill donation.

Richter’s Cemetery Association

The bi-annual meeting of Richter’s Cemetery Association will be held Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall. All persons with loved ones buried at this cemetery are invited to attend.

Women Making History Event

The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas invites you to its fourth annual Women Making History event on Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at the Historic Casino Hall, 254 N. Jefferson Street, La Grange. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at lwvsouthcentraltx.org or at the door. Plum Hermann Sons Life March meeting will be held Monday, March 9, at 5 p.m. at Prairie Valley Schoolhouse, 2510 Williams Rd., West Point. Meal and dessert will be provided.

Retired Teachers Association Meeting The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association will meet on Monday, March 9 at New Life Methodist Church, 1215 Von Minden Rd. in La Grange, at 1:45 p.m. Guest speaker will be Kenny Couch, Executive Director of Habitat For Humanity in Fayette County. All retired teachers and school personnel are welcome to attend.

American Legion, Auxiliary Meeting The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. Members are encouraged to attend to discuss the various business matters. The American Legion Veterans’ Organization is also celebrating their 107th Birthday this March. New potential members are always welcome. A light meal will be served, with the regular business meetings to follow.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host Game Day on Thursday, March 12, from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Herb Society Plant and Gift Sale

The Herb Society of America Pioneer Unit’s annual plant and gift sale, March 13 and 14 at Festival Hill Institute, 248 Jaster Road in Round Top. The sale runs from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days. There will be hundreds of varieties of herbs, shrubs, trees, vegetables, and more and the gift shop will feature a variety of herb-based items as well as books, and more. It’s time for the Herb Society of America-Pioneer Unit’s annual plant sale Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14. Celebrate Spring by replacing plants and refreshing beds that were freezedamaged from the great selection of bedding plants, herbs, shrubs, roses, succulents and trees. There will be new varieties and old favorites as well as lovely garden gifts and food items in the Thyme Well Spent Shop. Bring a wagon to haul all the great plants you’ll find. Registration is now open for the Herb Society of America Pioneer Unit’s 31st annual herbal forum: Dishing the Dirt on Herbs. Mindfulness Meditation in La Grange

Learn mindfulness meditation in La Grange Wednesdays March 11 and 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Texas Quilt Museum, 140 W. Colorado, La Grange. This is a free program. Learn the basic skills of mindfulness meditation, an ancient practice with modern science behind it. These two 90-minute classes will help you develop your ability to pay attention to immediate experience. Benefits include increased calm and focus. Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Meeting The Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Dinner and 2026 quarterly meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at the American Legion Hall in Flatonia. Social hour will start at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Kevin Laney, owner of Fayette County Outfitters in Flatonia. A business meeting will follow the potluck meal. Members are asked to bring a meat tray, salad, or dessert dish.
