American Legion
Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold their March membership meeting on Wednesday, March 4 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Lodge hall. The meal will be potluck. Please bring your favorite dish to share.
The meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Auxiliary for March, April and May will be held on the following dates: March 5, April 9, May 7. Please note that the April meeting has been rescheduled from April 2 to April 9 in reverence of Maundy Thursday of Holy Week. Each of these meetings will take place at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237, Round Top, beginning at 6:30 p.m. All veterans in the Round Top-Carmine, Burton, La Grange and Giddings area are encouraged to join Post No. 338 and share in fellowship with others who have served our nation.
AMEN Pantry Open
AMEN Food Pantry will be open Thursday, March 5 from 4:30-6 p.m. to distribute food. Monday hours continue to be 9 a.m. - noon.

For the Record on Page A2 & A5 The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, March 7, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A session ideal for beginners or anyone interested in getting started with honey bees. At 5:30 p.m. members and guests will enjoy a potluck dinner please bring a favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. Following dinner, the club will conduct its regular business meeting and then welcome this month’s guest speaker, Heather McBride. Heather is a Honey Bee Technician for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, as well as a Certified Master Beekeeper and Master Gardener. Her presentation will focus on queen rearing and selective breeding for mite resistance within your own apiary. Annual membership is $25 per individual or family, and guests are always welcome. Adult Technology Training
Fayette Public Library will host Adult Technology Training in La Grange on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. - noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Sealy Lions Dance
The Lions Sealy Dance will be held on Saturday, March 7, at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St., Sealy. The band, Lost Cause, will be providing live music from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The public is always welcome.
Bingo in Ledbetter
Bingo for seniors 60 and older, plus guests, will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, March 8 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips, snacks and drinks will be available for freewill donation.
Auditions For Spring Production
Auditions for the Fayette County Community Theatre’s spring production will be Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. and Monday, March 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater. The spring production will be “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick held May 1-3. This comedy features a wealthy widow, Ethel Savage, who is committed to a sanitarium by her greedy stepchildren to get her fortune. She befriends the other residents while foiling the attempts of her stepchildren.
Plum Hermann Sons Meeting
Plum Hermann Sons Life March meeting will be held Monday, March 9, at 5 p.m. at Prairie Valley Schoolhouse, 2510 Williams Rd., West Point. Meal and dessert will be provided.

Herb Society of America
Registration is now open for the Herb Society of America Pioneer Unit’s 31st annual herbal forum: Dishing the Dirt on Herbs. The event will be held Saturday, March 14 at the Festival Hill Institute, 248 Jaster Road in Round Top. Registration is required for this day-long event. Mindfulness Meditation in La Grange Learn mindfulness meditation in La Grange Wednesdays March 11 and 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Texas Quilt Museum, 140 W. Colorado, La Grange. This is a free program. Learn the basic skills of mindfulness meditation, an ancient practice with modern science behind it. These two 90-minute classes will help you develop your ability to pay attention to immediate experience. Benefits include increased calm and focus. Wings of Their Own
Witness five local actresses portray pivotal characters in aviation and in local business at the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum on March 21 and 22. The program features three pioneering women in aviation who helped shape the history of flight and two women instrumental to the legacy of the museum and the Stanzel Family Foundation. Attendees will be able to engage in conversation, ask questions, and learn about the courage, innovation and leadership it took to change aviation history. Multiple programs will be held each day and will last approximately 30 minutes. A light reception and an opportunity to explore the museum is included. Supply Drive For Animal Shelter
The Fayette County Texas Exes will be hosting a supply drive during the month of March to support the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter. Please help by donating the following items: bleach, window cleaner, disinfectant wipes, latex gloves, 409/ Lysol disinfectant cleaner, paper towels, 35 gallon trash bags, 55 gallon heavy duty (2ml) trash bags, puppy pads, copy paper, post-it notes, dry erase markers, and sharpies. Donations can be dropped off at the following locations: Jones Insurance Services and Texas One Stop in La Grange, Round Top Real Estate, Shorty’s in Winchester, Flatonia Baptist Church, Schulenburg Family Fitness Center, Joe’s Place, Orsak’s Café and Vintage Rose Market in Fayetteville.
