Municipal Court
The City of La Grange wishes to inform residents that, beginning Thursday, Feb. 19 the Municipal Court Clerk will move their office from the Police Department to La Grange City Hall, 155 E. Colorado St. Their office can be reached by calling City Hall at (979) 968-5805. While Municipal Court trials will still take place at 243 S. College St. any payments, pleas, or procedural questions should be directed to the Clerk at City Hall.
Relay For Life
Relay For Life of Fayette County will be holding a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 26 at Sealand Restaurant beginning at 5:15 p.m. Anyone interested in having a team or being on the committee for this year’s Relay should attend. Relay For Life of Fayette County 2026 will be held on April 18 at Leopard Stadium in La Grange. LG KC Fish Fry
The La Grange Knights of Columbus will host a drivethru only Fish Fry Fundraiser Friday, Feb. 27 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The meal will consist of fried fish, hushpuppies, cole slaw, pinto beans and buttered potatoes for $15 per plate. The meal is on a first come, first served basis.

Discover Winedale on the Texas Frontier
Join on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. for a hands-on exploration of Winedale’s landscape and history. A member of the Texas Master Naturalists will guide you through the site’s human and natural history, offering a fun and close-up look at what life was like on the Texas frontier. Following the program, the Lewis-Wagner House will be open for tours. Participants should meet in the events parking lot near the Theater Barn. This program is free, and no registration is required.
Tannich-Brovec Family 60th Reunion
The Tannich-Brovec Family 60th Reunion will be held on Sunday, March 1 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall off FM 155 at 1020 N. Center St., Weimar. Bring a covered dish: meat, vegetable, salad and/or dessert. Tea, coffee and bread will be provided. Lunch business meeting, live auction, door prizes and bingo. Bring an item for the live auction and or bingo. Tell your family members and cousins about the Reunion in case they are not on the mailing list. Independence Day Garbage Schedule

Texas Independence Day Celebration
The town of Round Top is pleased to announce a celebration in honor of Texas Independence Day. Please join us as we commemorate the rich history and spirit of Texas at 11a.m. on March 2 on the Round Top Square. The event will feature prayer, pledges, speeches, historical flag display and the firing of the historic Round Top cannon. Everyone is welcome to participate in this special occasion. Fayette County Helpers Jump-A-Thon Fayette County Helpers (FCH) is thrilled to host its Annual Jump-A-Thon for 2nd grade students across Fayette County. Students will participate during their scheduled P.E. classes on the following dates: Flatonia - Tuesday, March 3 from 12:301:20 p.m.; Sacred Heart Catholic School - Wednesday, March 4 from 12:45-1:20 p.m.; and La Grange - Thursday, March 5 from 12:45-1:20 p.m.
American Legion Quade-Werchan The meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Auxiliary for March, April and May will be held on the following dates: March 5, April 9, May 7. Please note that the April meeting has been rescheduled from April 2 to April 9
in reverence of Maundy Thursday of Holy Week. Each of these meetings will take place at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237, Round Top, beginning at 6:30 p.m. All veterans in the Round Top-Carmine, Burton, La Grange and Giddings area are encouraged to join Post No. 338 and share in fellowship with others who have served our nation.
Texas Exes Scholarship Fundraiser The University of Texas at Austin Fayette County Texas Exes Scholarship Fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. Enjoy a barbecue meal, dessert and silent auction at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Guest speaker is Arleas Upton Kea, President and Chair, Texas Exes Board of Directors. Tickets are $50 per person. Feed The Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, March 7, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A session ideal for beginners or anyone interested in getting started with honey bees. At 5:30 p.m. members and guests will enjoy a potluck dinner please bring a favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. Following dinner, the club will conduct its regular business meeting and then welcome this month’s guest speaker, Heather McBride. Heather is a Honey Bee Technician for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, as well as a Certified Master Beekeeper and Master Gardener. Her presentation will focus on queen rearing and selective breeding for mite resistance within your own apiary. Annual membership is $25 per individual or family, and guests are always welcome. Women Making History Event
The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas invites you to its fourth annual Women Making History event on Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at the Historic Casino Hall, 254 N. Jefferson Street, La Grange. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at lwvsouthcentraltx.org or at the door. Advance purchase is encouraged.
Food Handlers’ Workshop
A two-hour Food Handlers workshop will be held on Monday, March 9 at the Fayette Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, Room 104 in La Grange. This course is accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services. The Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER) state that “all food employees must complete an accredited food handler training course within 30 days of employment.” Food employees must also keep their food handler’s card updated. 3rd Annual Butterfly Jubilee
All are invited to make a wish and release a live butterfly in the Texas Quilt Museum Grandmother’s Flower Garden at the 3rd Annual Butterfly Jubilee on Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The celebration will feature a full slate of activities, including the “Airing of the Quilts,” live music, delicious food, face painting, craft booths, the “Plant-a-Memory” gardening adventure, and the “My Favorite Quilt” family activity. Guests can also enjoy a visit with The Great Story Fairy and stop by the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter’s Adopt-a-Pet “Snuggle Station” or the MKT Railroad Museum, along with plenty of shopping and additional family fun. This family-friendly event is mostly free to attend. Texas Heroes Museum Exhibit
Visit the Texas Heroes Museum to see the latest displays, a McClellan Saddle adopted by the Army in 1859, and an Englishstyle saddle adopted prior to World War I for officers. These saddles were used by the Cavalry until late in WWII.
