Friends/Fellowship

New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange, will be hosting Breakfast at Tiffany’s on Feb. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Enjoy breakfast for dinner and a movie. Senior Game Day

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host Game Day on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Herb Society

The Pioneer Unit of the Herb Society of America will be meeting Thursday, Feb. 12 to hear the Unit’s Horticulture Study Group present the findings of their year-long study of lavender. The meeting will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 412 South White Street in Round Top at 10 a.m.There will be coffee and snacks beginning at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend. American Legion, Auxiliary No. 102

The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the fairgrounds in La Grange. The meeting agenda for the Post will include discussion on the Nation’s Birthday and reviewing the Post By-Laws. New potential members for both the Post and Auxiliary are invited to attend. A light meal will be served, followed by the regular business meetings.

Mad Hatter Galentine’s in Burton

On Friday, Feb. 13, the town of Burton invites friends, funseekers, and hat lovers of all kinds to celebrate Mad Hatter Galentine’s, a whimsical, town-wide event full of charm, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. This free event kicks off at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum, where guests can grab a map of participating locations and begin their Mad Hatter adventure through historic downtown Burton. Attendees are encouraged to bring their maddest hats and embrace the playful spirit of Galentine’s Day. Downtown Burton, starting at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum 6-9 p.m.

Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus will hold their Gumbo to Geaux on Friday, Feb. 13 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the St. John Parish Hall in Fayetteville. Heart Strings Cello Concert 

Celebrate love and artistry this Feb. 14. Begin your evening with Bubbles & Bites in Grandmother’s Flower Garden, then be swept away by the rich, resonant sounds of cellist Luke Huser, performing live at the Texas Quilt Museum on Saturday, Feb. 14. Round Top Historical Society Garage Sale 

The Round Top Historical Society will hold their annual Garage Sale fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Household goods, furniture, antiques, decorative items, glassware and more will be for sale at the campus behind the Round Top Post Office at 397 E. Mill Street.

St. James BBQ & Bake Sale

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a BBQ and the Episcopal Womens a bake sale Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10:30 a.m - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H-E-B. A half chicken $6 and sausage link $7 drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of the Turtle Wing Foundation.

Czech Heritage Society Soup Social Fayette County Czech Heritage Society new date for the annual Soup Social is Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. Members are asked to bring a big pot of their favorite soup or a few sandwiches or dessert to share. New potential members and/or guests are always welcome. Vítáme Vás!

VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary to Meet On Tuesday, Feb.17, Fayette Memorial VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary of La Grange will meet in the VFW Post Home at the La Grange Fairgrounds, and potential members are invited to attend. The Auxiliary meets at 5 p.m. and at 6 p.m. the Post and Auxiliary will enjoy a meal after which the Post meets. Information about celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary will be shared.
