Muldoon Museum
The Muldoon Museum will be open Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The museum business meeting will be held June 5 at 2 p.m. in the museum building. Attend the meeting if you have any articles, stories or history on any materials.
KC Scholarship Meal Fundraiser
The 11th annual Msgr. Harry/La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 drive-thru meal fundraiser will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The meal includes fried pork chops, black-eyed peas, buttered potatoes and cabbage for $14 per plate. Tickets are available by calling (979) 9685117. Limited tickets will be available on Wednesday.
Networking Wednesday
A free networking class will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 10-11 a.m. at the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 220 W. Colorado St. La Grange. The guest speaker is from the Fayette County Farm Bureau.
City of Carmine Tree Debris Remova
The City of Carmine has contracted Texas Commercial Waste, to run a waste truck to pick-up tree debris from the May 16, 2024 storm. This service is for customers that pay for the City of Carmine’s trash service and will be at no additional cost. The tree debris truck is expected to run on Friday, May 31. Wood/ limbs/branches must be cut into 4 ft. bundles and weigh no more than 40 lbs. In addition to the truck, the City of Carmine will have a 30 ft. roll off dumpster stationed at Carmine City Hall on Saturday, June 1 through Sunday, June 2. This service will be for all City of Carmine residents at no cost. Place debris inside the dumpster, and not on the grounds at city hall. This roll-off is strictly for tree debris from the storm only. Do not place any other items in the dumpster. The city will have a dumpster day for other waste in the fall.
Adult Technology Training
Join the Fayette County Library in La Grange for Adult Technology Training on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, June 1 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The band, Al Sulak And The Country Sounds, will be providing live music from 7:30 - 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.
Finding Wellness-Building Healthier Life
The TCOLE mandated #4202 course is designed to teach law enforcement the importance of physical, mental, emotional, and social wellness, and to break down the stigma of mental health in the law enforcement profession. First responders are routinely exposed to high stress situations and this course is designed to give law enforcement personnel guidance on how their body and brain work together and against each other. Students will learn to recognize signs and symptoms as well as coping mechanisms for common forms of distress associated with our profession. We will address recognizing suicidal ideation and building suicide prevention plans. Students will gain insight on practicing resiliency to be more able to deal with the demands of their lives and chosen career. If Interested in attending, contact Inv. City of La Grange Facility Closures
Notice of City of La Grange facility closures Thursday, June 6, from 4-5 p.m. Facilities included in closure for staff development are: City Hall, La Grange Utilities, Historic Casino Hall, Fayette Public Library, Randolph Recreation Center, La Grange Police Department Administration, and the City Warehouse. La Grange VFD Golf Tournament
The La Grange Volunteer Fire Department will host their 11th annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 8 at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Fee is $450 per team. Tournament is limited to 18 teams. Tee time is 8 a.m. Food and refreshments will be served throughout the day. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Hole sponsor is $100 per hole. Auditions For Summer Production Calling all students, K-12: join Fayette County Community Theatre as they travel to Narnia.
