KC Shrimp Boil

Bring your family and friends to the 24th Annual Fayetteville/Ellinger KC Shrimp Boil Friday, May 17 under the pavilion at St. John’s in Fayetteville. Enjoy shrimp and all the fixin’s, ice cold beer, live music, a card gun raffle and a silent auction. Free beer during happy hour, which runs from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Food served at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds raised go toward scholarships and other worthy causes. Tickets are $40. LHS Class Reunion

The La Grange Class of 1957 will hold their 67th year class reunion on Saturday, May 18 at Sealand Restaurant located at 2359 W. State Highway 71 in La Grange at 1 p.m.

Drawe Cemetery

The Drawe Cemetery Association will hold its annual business meeting at the Drawe Cemetery located on Schulle Road near Warrenton, on Sunday, May 19 beginning at 3 p.m. Please bring a lawn chair. There’s more The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center (TCHCC) wants to invites you to Sunday Funday, May 19, with music, food, laughter, Czech culture and remembrance. Festivities begin at the Czech Center at 10:30 a.m. Chicken fried chicken dinner $13 per plate beginning at 11:30 a.m. Live music until 4 p.m. by the Donnie Wavra and Friends Orchestra. A May pole dance begins at 1:30 p.m. Shop at the country store, pastry shop, and Kopecky gift shop. Classic car show and food and drinks available all day. This all takes place at 250 West Fairgrounds Road in La Grange.

Bingo For Seniors in Ledbetter

Bingo for Seniors (60 and older plus guests) at the Ledbetter Community Center will be held Sunday, May 19 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips/snacks and drinks will be available for a free-will donation.

Mt. Calvary Picnic and Auction

The Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church 29th annual picnic and auction is scheduled for Sunday, May 19 at the La Grange KC Hall. Worship starts at 9 a.m. followed by live music, meal, auction, raffle, and children’s activities for the rest of the day. Barbecue brisket and sausage meal with buttered potatoes, green beans, and homemade bread will begin at 11 a.m. Dine-in or drive-thru plates are all $16. Purchase meal/raffle tickets at La Grange Chevron, Lukas Bakery, Weikel’s Bakery, Mt. Calvary Preschool, or at the door on picnic Sunday. Come join for an enjoyable day of Christian fellowship.

FWSC Board Meeting

Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a monthly meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, May 20 at 4:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Rd. in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.

VFW Post 5254, Auxiliary to Meet On Tuesday, May 21, Fayette Memorial VFW Post No. 5254 and Auxiliary of La Grange will meet in the VFW Post Home at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange. The Auxiliary will meet at 5 p.m. Post and Auxiliary will hear a Loyalty Day program at 6 p.m. followed by a light meal, after which the Post will meet. Potential members are invited to attend.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, May 23, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Beekeepers Association Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have a meeting on the first Saturday of every month at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 Honey Bee Biology presentation from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, an open discussion on beethings, and a guest presentation. This is a great opportunity to meet up with experienced beekeepers who can serve as mentors and advisors. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family.
