The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center spring meeting/luncheon will be held at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange on Thursday, April 25. Registration will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Cash door prizes will be awarded to ten lucky attendees who have registered by 10:30 a.m. The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Jack Thompson, the new La Grange City Manager. Lunch consisting of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli salad, glazed carrots, dinner roll and banana pudding will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $5. Members may also sign up for a day trip to the Chisholm Trail Museum scheduled for Wednesday, May 15. Information on planned Game Days will also be available.
Round Top Hermann Sons will meet Thursday, April 25 at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Social time at 6 p.m. and meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Please bring sandwiches, cold cuts, desserts, etc. to share for the meal.
The Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have a game night on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring a snack and your favorite game.
La Grange Garden Club Field Trip
The La Grange Garden Club is going on a field trip to Old West Town in New Dubina. They will leave from the Randolf Recreation Center at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange at 1:30 p.m. on April 25. For more information, call (713) 962-4771.
Wildlife Management Co-op Meeting
The North Central Fayette County Wildlife Management Co-op is having their annual spring meeting on April 27, at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall in Round Top. Social begins at 4 p.m. and the meeting starts at 5 p.m. with a meal to follow. There will be multiple speakers giving informative programs, door prizes, and a bucket raffle. St. John Altar Society Fundraiser
St. John Altar Society of Fayetteville is planning their annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 with a bake sale, country store, hot dogs and a raffle featuring a hand quilted quilt. Tickets can be purchased at Fayetteville Bank.
Ellinger VFD Fundraiser Barbecue The Ellinger Volunteer Firemen’s Feast barbecue fundraiser will be held Sunday, April 28 at the Ellinger C of C Hall. Serving starts at 11 a.m. and drive-thru plates begin at 10:30 a.m. Chicken and sausage dinner with all the trimmings is $15. Barbecue chicken will be sold to go sold at the pits for $12 per chicken. Auction begins at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to purchase new equipment.
Waldeck Cemetery Memorial Service The Decoration and Memorial Service for the Waldeck Cemetery will be held on Sunday, April 28 at the Waldeck Cemetery beginning at 2:30 p.m. A business meeting will follow the service, and light refreshments will be served.
La Grange Sports Banquet
The La Grange All Sports Booster Club will hold its annual Sports Banquet Monday, May 6. This event is for Varsity players and their families. Tickets are available at the LGISD Administration office to purchase. Social will begin at 6 p.m.
Barbecue Chicken on Mothers Day The Holy Cross Couples Club will have their annual chicken barbecue on Mothers Day, May 12. Pick-up at the Holy Cross picnic grounds in Warda from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Chickens are $12 and cups of sauce are $3. Place your order at La Grange Chevron or by calling the church office at (979) 242-3333. Advance orders only by Monday, May 6.
Farm Bureau Food Pantry Benefit Fayette County Farm Bureau is hosting a Food Pantry Benefit drive-thru meal at the La Grange KC Hall on Tuesday, May 21 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The meal will be chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable medley, and roll. The cost is $12 per plate and will be drive thru only. Tickets are available to purchase at the Farm Bureau office, 411 E. Colorado St. in La Grange or from a Fayette County Farm Bureau board member. All proceeds from the meal are to benefit the area food pantries with Fayette County Farm Bureau matching up to $5,000.
