La Grange All Sports Booster Club will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the high school library.
Join for Adult Technology Training at the Fayette County Library in La Grange on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Railfan Party
Join the Flatonia Rail Museum this Saturday, April 6 at the Tommy Shults Pavilion for its annual Railfan Party. All train enthusiasts are welcome! Come watch and talk all about trains! The pavilion is located about 1/2 mile west of downtown at the junction of the Union Pacific. The pavilion is always open, handicap accessible, and covered making it an excellent spot to watch trains no matter the weather. Come as early and stay as long as you would like to. There will be fresh coffee and donuts ready at the pavilion by 8 a.m. Please bring your chairs, cameras and laptops to capture all the train action. The pavilion is equipped with power outlets. Several raffle prizes will also be given out.
The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, April 6, at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The band, Texas Sound Check, will be providing live music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.
Teens in the Kitchen
Do you love to cook, or would you like to learn the basics? The Fayette Public Library is partnering with the Central Texas Food Bank to bring you Teens in the Kitchen on Tuesday, April 9, from 4:30-6 p.m. This class will introduce participants to nutrition, safety in the kitchen, and cooking. All teens will receive a recipe and prepare a delicious dish under the instruction of a nutritionist. This class is open to ten teens ages 11-18, and participants must register in advance. Relay For Life Drive-Thru Fundraiser
The local Relay for Life of La Grange participants are selling tickets for their upcoming drive-thru fundraiser to be held on Tuesday, April 9. Meal will consist of fried chicken, with trimmings and dessert prepared by Koopmann Catering. Tickets are $13 each; serving will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Walnut Street in La Grange. Black Jack Springs Cemetery
Black Jack Springs Cemetery, located at Black Jack Lane on FM 609 between La Grange and Flatonia, will hold its annual Decoration Day the Sunday after Easter, April 7, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. The program will be a memorial service, followed by a brief business meeting, fellowship and light refreshments. Stories of deceased relatives and friends are usually told, and annual dues for the support of the cemetery are collected. Please come with your children and grandchildren, with some light refreshments and with stories of your ancestors and friends buried at Black Jack Springs Cemetery. Hermann Sons
Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on April 3. A meal of potato pancakes and sausage will be served. Members are asked to bring a side or dessert.
Networking Wednesday at LG Chamber Networking Wednesday, will be held April 3, from 10-11 a.m. at the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 220 W. Colorado St., La Grange. This is a free event. Speaker will be Rocky Johnson, from the SMO Digital Marketing Agency.
Wick Reunion
The 27th John Wick Family Reunion will be held at the St. Mary Parish Hall in High Hill on Sunday, April 7, with registration starting at 10 a.m. A catered meal of fried chicken and sausage will be served at Noon for $14 a plate for 13 years and up; children 12 and under eat free. Please bring a dessert to share. Tea and coffee will be served with the meal. A silent auction, guessing games, and door prizes will be featured events. American Legion Quade Werchan The next regular meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Thursday, April 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. While the post normally meets on the first Thursday of the month, this change in meeting date is due to the close out of the Spring 2024 Antiques Show by vendors on the site. For the meetings in May 2024, the post and auxiliary will meet on Thursday, May 2. All post and auxiliary members are requested to attend their respective meetings.
