LG Noon Lions Club

Hermann Sons Life will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. The lodge will provide chicken fried steak and members are asked to bring sides or desserts.

The La Grange Noon Lions Club meets on Thursdays at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club at noon. The guest speakers for February are: Feb. 8, Paul Zapalac, Fayette County Recycle; Feb. 15, Gavin Miculka, Kreiche Brewery and Monument Hill Historic State Park; Feb. 22, Bob Rose, LCRA Meteologist (not confirmed); Feb. 29, Ben Bailey, Otto Bock Prosthetics.

Meet the Leopards

The spring meet the Leopards will be held in the High School Gym on Thursday, Feb. 8. The La Grange All Sports Booster Club will hold a hotdog meal beginning at 6:30 p.m. with program to follow at 7:15 p.m.

BBQ & Bake Sale

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a barbecue and the women will hold a bake sale Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of Tejas HealthCare.

Networking Wednesday – Feb. 7, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce Office. Speaker: Doady Rogers, owner of The Grounding Breath. Open to the public.

There’s more GayHill Missionary Baptist Church located at 7003 E. Hwy. 71 in La Grange holds Sunday School on the first and third Sundays of the month at 9:30 a.m. with morning Worship is at 10:15 a.m. with Pastor J.Caldwell.

Texas Lutheran Writers Round Up

Community members are welcome to attend the 5th annual Lutheran Writers Round Up at Faith Lutheran High School on Friday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. FLHS is located at 600 FM 1482 in Warda. The day begins with a live broadcast of Sharper Iron at 8 a.m. with host Rev. Timothy Appel interviewing Rev. Brian Kachelmeier and Rev. Dustin Beck. At 9 a.m. there are two Bible studies from which to choose, one led by Donna Snow on her book Unshakable, and the other led by Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller on his book Has American Christianity Failed? After a group opening at 10 a.m. there are adult and student breakout sessions during the morning and afternoon (with lunch provided at noon). Adults will be in the main fellowship hall, while student groups will move from classroom to classroom. Featured authors include Sarah Baughman, La Grange resident Charles Hebert, Christina Hergenrader, Rev. Brian Kachelmeier, Rev. Chris Kennedy, Lee County resident Ruth Meyer, Donna Snow, and Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller. If you plan to be there for lunch, RSVP to FLHS at (979) 242-2889 for planning purposes. Community members are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions throughout the day.

Industry KC Fried Chicken Fundraiser

The Industry Knights of Columbus Msgr. Edward Geiser Council No. 10224 will hold their annual fried chicken fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 11 at Industry Fireman’s Hall. $12 donation for the meal. Meal includes hand breaded fried chicken (1/2 chicken), homemade buttered noodles, and green beans. The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dine in or plates to go will be available. Other activities include a silent auction, live auction at 12:30 p.m. and prize drawing after the live auction. The Knights of Columbus is a non-profit fraternal benefit society benefiting church, youth, and community.

Plum Hermann Sons Life

Plum Hermann Sons Life February meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. Prairie Valley Schoolhouse located at 2510 Williams Rd. in West Point. A meal and dessert will be provided.

Field Trip for Retired Teachers

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association will meet on Monday, Feb. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Mandito’s Mexican Restaurant located at 102 S. Washington St. in Round Top for lunch and fellowship. RSVP by Thursday, Feb. 8 to kmigl2000@yahoo. com.

Shelby Cemetery Meeting

The annual Shelby Cemetery Association meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Shelby Fire Station on FM 389.

Family Fun Night

Camp Lone Star will host a family fun night on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with messy art night. This includes dinner and a devotional. Get ready for fellowship, fun and getting messy. Valentine’s Day Bake Sale in Round Top A Valentine’s bake sale will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Round Top Farm & Ranch Supply, 2121 Hwy. 237 North. Baked goods will be available from 8 a.m. until all items are gone. This fundraiser is an opportunity to pick up sweet treats for the holiday while supporting the local community. All proceeds will benefit CASA, Fayette County Child Welfare Board, and the Child Welfare Board’s Rainbow Room. La Grange KC Fish Fry

The La Grange Knights of Columbus will hold a drive-thru fish fry fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 16 from 4-6 p.m. at the KC Community Center in La Grange, located at 190 S. Brown St. The meal will include fried fish and hushpuppies, cole slaw, pinto beans and buttered potatoes for $14/plate. Call (979) 968-5117 for tickets.

Texas Women’s League Spring Gala Join the Texas Women’s League Saturday, March 2 for the Spring Gala at the Fayette County Fairgrounds Fair Pavilion. This annual event raises funds to benefit charities serving Fayette County with a fun silent and live auction. This year’s meal will be catered by Celebrations Catering and hosted by local auctioneer Lee Fritsch. Sponsorships, underwriting and individual tickets available at www.texaswomensleague.org.
