Pack A Shoebox

Operation Christmas child boxes are available at the Round Top Family Library. Come by the library Monday-Saturday during library hours to pick up a shoe box. Once you have filled the box, bring it back by Nov. 16. For details, visit samaritanspurse.org/occ.

Support Group

The November meeting of the Parkinson’s Support Group will be held on Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. The usual meeting room at the Randolph Center on Pearle St. should be available. Please refer to personal e-mails sent to members for plans for something new. Anyone interested in finding out more about PD (Parkinson’s Disease) is welcome. The group disperses at 11 a.m. If you have questions or comments, call (832) 561-1447, leave a message on the voice mail, and you should receive a response in short order.

Open Mic Night

The Fayette County Community Theatre is hosting the last Open Mic Night of the year on Nov. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. Come out to the FCCT Box Office and Studio at 120 S. Washington St. in La Grange to share your acting, comedic, vocal, or musical talents, or to enjoy the talents of others.

There’s more The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension building, 255 Svoboda Ln. in La Grange. Speakers will be representatives from Texas Moms for America, an organization that is working to reclaim our culture for truth, family, freedom, and the Constitution, empowering moms, promoting liberty, raising patriots. RT Hermann Sons Meeting

The Round Top Hermann Sons will meet Thursday, Nov. 16

at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Social time is 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. Election of officers will be held. Chili will be served. Members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Donations and items for CASA may be brought to the meeting or dropped off at Round Top Real Estate office.

BBQ Turkeys, Stuffing & Gravy

The La Grange Knights of Columbus along with the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will host a Thanksgiving fundraiser. The La Grange Knights of Columbus will be selling 14-16 lb. BBQ turkeys for $60 each. Homemade dressing (9x13) for $30 and 1 qt. of giblet gravy for $10 will be available from the Fayette County Habitat for Humanity prepared by Jill Steuber. Each item is available separately. All orders must be placed with the Knights of Columbus before Nov. 16. Call (979) 968-5117 to pre-order. Pickup will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange Knights of Columbus Community Center at 190 Brown St. in La Grange.

Democratic Neighbors Luncheon

La Grange Garden Club

Care of holiday plants and flowers, and holiday arrangements will be the topic of the La Grange Garden Club’s meeting Thursday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Master Gardener Becky McKay of Giddings Nursery & Garden Center will be presenting this timely program. Everyone is invited to join at Randolph Recreation Center at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange.

Christmas Craft Fair

The New Life Methodist Church (formerly FUMC) will host a Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 18. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are 28 vendors with many different crafts. Lunch will be served by the Methodist Men. Proceeds from this event will benefit Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. Mobile Food Pantry

The Central Texas Food Bank food truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction FM-1291 and FM2145 on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Food distribution will be walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as the clients walk-thru the line making their selections. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags, boxes, or plastic tubs. Wagons will be furnished by the Central Texas Food Bank. The food truck is in Waldeck on the third Saturdays of each month from. The next scheduled date is Dec. 16.

Vegan Cooking Class

The Seventh Day Adventist Church is having a vegan cooking class on Sunday, Nov. 19 from 5-7 p.m. at the Church Hall located at 1000 E. Business 71 in La Grange. RSVP by Nov. l4, by calling or texting Robin at (361) 827-4710.

VFW Post 5254 & Auxiliary Meeting A light meal and meetings will be held by La Grange Fayette Memorial VFW Post No. 5254 andAuxiliary on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the VFW Home in La Grange. The VFW Auxiliary will meet at 5 p.m., joint meal at 6 p.m., followed by the VFW Post meeting.
