FCCT Harvey

The La Grange Senior Citizens annual meeting/luncheon will be held in the gym of the Randolph Recreatoin Center, 653 E. Pearl Street in La Grange, on Thursday, Nov. 2. Registration will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Cash door prizes will be awarded to ten lucky attendees who have registered by 10:15 a.m. The meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Josh Vandever, Fayette County EMS Director. Lunch consisting of chicken fried steak, twice baked potatoes, green beans, broccoli salad and peach cobbler will be served at 11:30 a.m. for $5. The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Harvey” by Mary Chase on Nov. 3, 4 and 5 at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater located at 250 West Fair Grounds Road in La Grange. Ticket prices are $15 for adult general admission, $10 for student general admission, and $40 for a VIP ticket. Tickets are available for purchase from FCCT’s Box Office located at 120 South Washington Street in La Grange or online at http://www.fayettecountycommunitytheatre. com.

The show begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, and 3 p.m. for the Sunday, Nov. 5 matinee.

There’s more Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The meal will be potluck.

NewExhibit at Museum

An opening reception for the new exhibit, “Rev. Carl Baer: German Missionary to Waldeck,” will be held in the Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives on Saturday, Nov. 4 with a brief program beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Museum is above the Fayette Public Library at 855 S. Adult Technology Training

Join the Fayette County Library in La Grange on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon for an Adult Technology Training. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Eight seats are available. Registration is required. Call (979) 968-3765 to sign up.

Muldoon Museum Hours

The Muldoon Museum will be open Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Praha Cemetery Veterans Day

The 61st Annual All Veterans Day honoring all veterans of all eras will be held Sunday, Nov. 5 at Praha Cemetery. A Patriotic Rosary will begin at 8:45 a.m. Mass to be offered for all Veterans at 9:30 a.m. at Praha Church. Assembly at 10:30 a.m. with a Veterans Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Flyover by Commemorative Air Force at noon. Guest Speaker is Dan Mueller. A fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings will be available for $13. Bring lawn chairs as seating is limited. Moulton School band will play and there will be a flower drop.

Sports Booster Club

The La Grange All Sports Booster Club will hold their monthly meeting Monday, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the La Grange High School Library.

The Battle of The Alamo

The next Winedale online talk will be “The Battle of theAlamo: A Flashpoint of the Texas Revolution.” The Alamo’s Senior Curator, Historian and Lecturer Ernesto Rodriguez traces the roots of the Texas Revolution, from the political seat of power in Mexico City to the frontier battlefields across modern-day South Texas. American Legion Quade-Werchan Post At the conclusion of the Fall 2023 Antiques Show, the next regular meeting of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and LadiesAuxiliary will occur at their facility on Thursday, Nov. 9 beginning at 6:30 p.m. All members of the American Legion and Auxiliary are encouraged to attend as the post elects officers for the upcoming year of 2024. Any interested veterans, spouses of veterans, and daughters or sons of veterans are welcome and also encouraged to attend.
