The Weimar Farmers Market, located in the green buildng at 201 W. Main, showcases local farmers every second Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. There is no fee to participate but vendors must register in advance by emailing info@weimarchamber. com.

Tech Training

Pumpkin Party
Join the Texas Quilt Museum for a pumpkin party, Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Come enjoy a great pumpkin hunt, carving and painting of pumpkins and a buffet of festive food to celebrate autumn. All ages are welcome for this free family fun event.

Baseball Alumni Assoc. Fundraiser
The Fayetteville Baseball Alumni Association will be holding their 3rd annual fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the SPJST Ball Park in Fayetteville. There will be a barbecue cook-off, \\ Home Run Derby, cornhole tournament, 50/50 raffle, prize hat raffle and gun raffle. Tumbleweed Food Company food truck will be on site for great food (BYOB). Fall Gathering Schulenburg
The Western Cluster of WELCA(Lutheran Church Women’s groups) will hold their Fall Gathering on Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at United Evangelical Lutheran Church at Swiss Alp located at 2038 FM 3171 in Schulenburg. A breakfast/brunch will be provided. The program will be Situational Awareness by presenter Officer TJ McCleney. A freewill offering will be given to Lutherhill for camper scholarships. Roast Beef & Sausage Dinner
St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinger will have a roast beef and sausage drive-thru dinner on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The meal will be catered by Peter’s BBQ. Tickets are $15.
Czech Heritage Society Meeting
The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society meeting will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at the TCHCC in La Grange. Members are asked to bring one or two meaningful Czech souvenirs or artifacts and share a memory about them. Bring a favorite snack. New potential members and/or guests are invited to attend.

Columbus Day Garbage Schedule La Grange city offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9 for the Columbus Day holiday. Waste Management’s residential and commercial garbage service will be on their regular schedule for the week of the Columbus Day Holiday. Please put your garbage cart out on your regular pick-up day to be serviced.

Legion, Auxiliary No. 102 Meeting TheAmerican Legion Post No. 102 and theAmerican Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. CVTC, FEC Document Shred Day
Colorado Valley Communications and Fayette Electric Cooperative will host their sixth annual document shred day for members on Friday, Oct. 13 in conjunction with National Cooperative Month. The free document shredding will be available from 10 a.m. until noon at Fayette Electric located at 357 North Washington St. in La Grange, and from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Colorado Valley Communications located at 4915 South US Hwy. 77, La Grange.
