Hermann Sons

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.The meal will be chili dogs and members are asked to bring a side or dessert.

Carmine Night Out

The Carmine Chamber of Commerce, Carmine Lions Club, and Carmine Volunteer Fire Department are sponsoring Carmine Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 5 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Carmine Fire Station. Enjoy free hot dogs, drinks, R&R Shaved Ice for the kids, and door prizes for adults. A flag retirement ceremony will be held by theAmerican Legion Post No. 338 and Round Top-Carmine 4-H. Fire trucks will be on display and a helicopter will be arriving at 7 p.m.

LG Noon Lions

The La Grange Noon Lions Club meets on Thursdays at noon at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Speakers for October include: Oct. 5, Jane Istre-District Governor; Oct. 12, Terri Hefner-Director of Elections Fayette County; Oct. 19, Lion Robert Fait from Sealy Lions Club, History of Houston Baseball with memorabilia; Oct. 26, Lion Charles Villeneuve, District Chairperson for Lions Clubs International Foundation LCIF.

Al-Anon Meetings in Bastrop

Al-Anon meetings are held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church located at 1201 Main St. in Bastrop. American Legion Quade-Werchan

The next monthly meeting for American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5 will be held in conjunction with the Carmine Chamber of Commerce Night Out at the Carmine Fire Station beginning at 6 p.m. Post members, with assistance from members of the local 4H Club, will be conducting a Flag Disposal Ceremony at the start of the event in accordance with procedures of the American Legion. All members of the post and the auxiliary are requested to participate in this ceremony. Due to the conclusion of the Fall 2023 Antiques Show, the next regular meeting of the post and auxiliary at their facility will occur on Thursday, Nov. 9 rather than the normal schedule of Nov. 2 The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend as the post elects officers for the upcoming year of 2024.

Little Pumpkin Party

Join the Texas Quilt Museum for a pumpkin party, Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Come enjoy a great pumpkin hunt, carving and painting of pumpkins and a buffet of festive food to celebrate autumn. All ages are welcome for this free family fun event.

Ledbetter VFD Fireman’s Feast

The annual Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department’s Fireman’s Feast will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Ledbetter Firemen’s Park in Ledbetter. Enjoy bingo from 4-6 p.m. A fried chicken dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. for $15 per plate. The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Ledbetter VFD. Spin the wheel for prizes by the Ledbetter Homemaker’s Club. Desserts will be sold by the Ledbetter Homemaker’s Club. Country Store by the Round Top Hermann Sons Lodge 151.

Fall Gathering Schulenburg

The Western Cluster of WELCA(Lutheran Church Women’s groups) will hold their Fall Gathering on Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at United Evangelical Lutheran Church at Swiss Alp located at 2038 FM 3171 in Schulenburg. A breakfast/brunch will be provided. The program will be Situational Awareness by presenter Officer TJ McCleney. A freewill offering will be given to Lutherhill for camper scholarships. Baseball Alumni Assoc. Fundraiser The Fayetteville Baseball Alumni Association will be holding their 3rd annual fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the SPJST Ball Park in Fayetteville. There will be a barbecue cook-off, Home Run Derby, cornhole tournament, 50/50 raffle, prize hat raffle and gun raffle. Tumbleweed Food Company food truck will be on site for great food (BYOB). Roast Beef & Sausage Dinner

St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinger will have a roast beef and sausage drive-thru dinner on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The meal will be catered by Peter’s BBQ. Tickets are $15.
