Columbus Day Garbage Schedule
La Grange city offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9, for the Columbus Day holiday. Waste Management’s residential and commercial garbage service will be on their regular schedule for the week of the Columbus Day Holiday. Please put your garbage cart out on your regular pick-up day to be serviced.
Plum Hermann Sons Life
Plum Hermann Sons Life October meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m. Prairie Valley Schoolhouse, 2510 Williams Rd., West Point. Meal and dessert provided. Save the date for the Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.

CVTC, FEC Document Shred Day
Colorado Valley Communications and Fayette Electric Cooperative will host their sixth annual document shred day for members on Friday, Oct. 13 in conjunction with National Cooperative Month. The free document shredding will be available from 10 a.m. until noon at Fayette Electric located at 357 North Washington St. in La Grange, and from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Colorado Valley Communications located at 4915 South US Hwy. 77, La Grange. Simmons, Lemons, Adams Reunion
Due to the death of an immediate family member, The Simmons, Lemons, and Adams annual family reunion has been changed to Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Blase’s Hall in Hallettsville. The scholarship application date has been extended to Oct. 6 and winners will be announced during the family reunion. La Grange VFD Fish Fry
The 38th annual La Grange Volunteer Fire Department free-will donation fish fry benefit fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15. Serving will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Community Center in La Grange. The meal is drive-thru only. This event is co-sponsored by the La Grange Knights of Columbus. Proceeds will go towards the purchase of new equipment.
