Jazz Dance Class

Grief Group

Hospice Brazos Valley is offering an Anticipatory Grief group. This is a monthly support group for caregivers of loved ones who have a terminal or chronic diagnosis. The group will meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office, 1048 N. Jefferson, La Grange. Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

There’s more Registration for tumbling and gymnastics will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center, located at 653 E. Pearl in La Grange. Fees are $75 a month participant for one time per week per child; $100 a month participant two times per week (two siblings $90 each per month, three siblings $80 each per month). Women’s Bible Study

Woven Ministry is a nonprofit for the women of the community. Join us in our 10-week Bible study on the book of James. Our Tuesday evening group meets from 6:45-8:15 p.m. and Wednesday morning group from 8:30-10:30 a.m. starting the week of Labor Day at Crosspoint Community Church 1010 N. Kolkhorst Announces Mobile Office Hours

The office of Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) is holding mobile satellite office hours in Fayette County on Friday, Sept. 1. Astaff member for Senator Kolkhorst will be available to meet with constituents from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Courtroom on the third floor of the county courthouse located at 151 N. Washington in La Grange. No appointment is necessary. This will be an opportunity for Fayette County residents to meet with a member of Senator Kolkhorst’s staff to share comments, ideas, or discuss other matters of importance. Bake Sale in Ellinger

In memory of Dorothy Orsak, Ellinger Cares will be holding a bake sale on Sept. 2 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hruska’s Store in Ellinger. Enjoy homemade desserts and help celebrate an inspiration and a bright light in the Ellinger/Fayetteville community. All money collected will be donated to the following organizations in her honor: St. Mary’s Church, Ellinger, Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department, Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, La Grange, St. Jude Children’s Research Center, and Shriners Hospital for Children.

Winchester Farmer’s Market

Zilss Hall, located at the corner of Memorial Hall Rd. and FM 153 in Winchester, will be the site of the monthly Winchester Farmer’s Market this Saturday, Sept. 2, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Vendors will be selling crafts, homemade food items, plants, eggs, and locally grown produce until noon. St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Picnic St. Mary Catholic Church in High Hill will host their annual Parish Picnic on Sunday, Sept. 3, in High Hill. Flag raising ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. with a Polka Mass at 10:15 a.m. and cake walk at 11 a.m. Take in the country store, duck pond, ring toss and corn hole. A fried chicken and stew dinner begins at 11 a.m. All plates are $13. Meal trimming includes German potatoes, sauerkraut, and green beans. Auction begins at 1 p.m. with music during the day by Texas Sound Czech and Mark Halata and Texavia and a free dance at night by David Lewis.

Holy Cross Annual Picnic

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda will hold their annual picnic on Sunday, Sept. 3, on their shady grounds in Warda. Barbecue brisket, pork, and chickens by the pound with containers of sides starting at 9:30 a.m. Activities throughout the day for kids and adults with plenty of cold beverages, ice cream and snow cones to stay cool. Hamburgers, nachos, and French fries available starting at 4 p.m. with a live auction at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the day.

Labor Day Garbage Schedule City offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, for the Labor Day Holiday. Waste Management garbage and recycle service will be on their regular schedule for the week of the Labor Day Holiday. The week of Sept. 4 is a recycling week for residential customers. Commercial dumpster service will be on regular schedule, also.

Square Dance Lessons at Randolph The La Grange Road Runner Square Dance Club will host beginning square and round dance lessons in La Grange at the Randolph Center, 653 E. Pearl St. Round Dance Lessons are from 5:307 p.m. and Square Dance Lessons are from 7-8:30 p.m. First lesson is on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Round dance lessons are $5 per person per evening. Square dance lessons are $20 per person per month. First lesson is free. A great time to make new friends, get some exercise, and enjoy a new skill.
