Back to School Blast
St. James United Methodist Church located at 710 N. Jackson in La Grange will have a back to school blast with Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 19, beginning at 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Outside games, crafts, water ballons, refreshments, give aways and lots more. Parents need to be present with small children. Canik Reunion
The 24th Josef and Marie Canik family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 20, at the Sts. Peter and Paul dining hall in Frelsburg, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All family members are welcome. A mass for the Canik Family will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg.
There’s more Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
FWS Corporation Meeting
Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a meeting of the board of directors on Monday, Aug. 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Rd. in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.

La Grange ShowFund
The La Grange Show Fund will have a meeting Monday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Fayette County AgriLife Extension building located at 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange.
La Grange Community Blood Drive
A La Grange Community Blood Drive will be held a the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange on Wednesday, Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. For information about eligibility, email whocandonate@weareblood.org. Please eat a full meal before donating and remember to bring your photo ID.
4-H & FFA Jr. Commercial Heifer Sale The annual Jr. Commercial Heifer Sale will be held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 26, beginning at 1 p.m. About 120 head of quality bred heifers will be auctioned. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Come out and support the youth of Fayette County and buy some nice replacement heifers. A resale option is available for people wanting to help out the exhibitors but not wanting to take possession of the heifer. Call Lee Fritsch at (979) 966-7153 for more information.
St. Mary Annual Bazaar
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will host their 73rd Annual Bazaar on Sunday, Aug. 27. Starting at 10:30 a.m. there will be a drive-thru and dine-in meal at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall consisting of fried chicken, sausage and trimmings for $15 per plate. Zach Novak will be playing Polka music. There will be a silent auction as well as a live mini-auction. A prize drawing for a $5,000 gift card first prize, a $2,000 gift card second prize, a $1,000 gift card third prize, fourteen $500 gift card prizes, and 22 additional prizes will be held in the afternoon. Tickets for the drawing are available from the St. John’s/ St. Mary’s Parish Office, St. Mary parishioners or Fayetteville Bank, or Round Top State Bank. La Grange All Sports Booster Club The La Grange All Sports Booster Club is holding a raffle for four La Grange Leopards 2023 premium reserved seats. Seats are located at the 50 yard line, section C, row O, seats 14-17. Tickets are $10 for one or $50 for six. Value of the seats is $1200 for varsity home games. Drawing will take place on Aug. 30.
