Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Volunteer Service Day at Festival Hill

The Round Top Festival Institute Gardens and Grounds Volunteer Service Day will be held on Saturday, June 3 starting at 9:30 a.m. with check-in at the yellow school building. Light breakfast snacks will be provided by Lollitop Sweetshop.After an overview of project areas for the day, crews will gear up and get started. Projects of trimming, raking leaves and planting typically last until noon, when crews wrap up and head out to lunch provided by The Stone Cellar. Interested in contributing to the Festival Hill Gardens and Grounds Service Day? The group is in need of bottled water, breakfast goodies, light snacks, fruit and bug spray to name a few items. Beekeepers Association Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, June 3 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For new beekeepers, there will be a Beekeeping 101 presentation starting at 4:30 p.m. and it will be a great opportunity to meet up with experienced beekeepers who can serve as mentors and advisors. A potluck dinner will follow, and guests are welcome to bring their favorite sides/desserts. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, an open discussion on bee-things, and possible guest presentation. Membership dues for 2023 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend the meeting, FaycoBeeks welcomes all new members and especially encourages young beekeepers and their families to join. Regular meetings are the first Saturday of even-numbered months (April, June, etc.) More information on FaycoBeeks can be found at faycobeeks.org.

Buckaroo Camp

Colorado River Cowboy Church will be having its three-day Buckaroo Camp June 5-7 for ages 3-12. It will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A chuck wagon supper will be served. Parents are welcome to stay. Registration forms will be on the church website, www. coloradorivercowboychurch.org or on Facebook. The church telephone is (512) 575-5592. The address is 5122 E. Hwy. 71. With lots of fun outside activities, children should dress cool and wear tennis shoes or boots.

Sages & Saints Taco Bingo Night

Join the New Life Methodist Church (formerly First United Methodist Church) on Thursday, June 8 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. and enjoy taco bingo night. Bring your favorite dessert. Join in the fellowship hall and bring a friend.

Kolache Klobase Festival

The 32nd year of the Czech Kolache Klobase Festival is Saturday, June 10 at Riverside Hall in East Bernard and begins at 10:30 a.m. Music throughout the day and a Kolache eating contest begins at 2 p.m. A sausage and barbecue chicken, sauerkraut and other trimmings plate lunch will be available for purchase, serving begins at 11 a.m. Drive thru plates will be available from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. Arts and craft booths inside and outside with hand-crafted items, jewelry and clothing. Kids Kamp

The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association Kids Kamp will be held June 20-22 at the Fayette County Agrilife Extension building located at 255 Svoboda Lane. Kamp is open to kids ages 10-13. Kamp will be held from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Cost is $30 a child. Topics include butterflies, plant extinction, venus flytaps, plant surival, and take home activities. Relay For Life of La Grange

Seeking team captains, teams, sponsors, committee members and walkers. Relay for Life is scheduled for Sept. 23. Now is the time to grab your friends and create a team. Civic organizations, businesses and non-profits are welcome to participate, as well.
