Food Truck

The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food truck will be in Fayetteville at St. John Pavilion on Wednesday, April 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. It is a walk up distribution with volunteers to help with the distribution. There will be volunteers to help with the distribution and loading in your vehicle.

Sages & Saints

Join First United Methodist Church Sages & Saints Craftnight at the Fellowship Hall Thursday, April 13 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Come and join the fun and paint rocks. Soup and sandwiches will be served. Bring a dessert and a friend.

Winedale

LG Garden Club

There’s more A free program providing legal information will be held at the Weimar Public Library at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 with snacks and drinks provided. The Friends of the Weimar Public Library, will host a presentation on estate planning, including wills, trusts, and gifts; inheritance rules in absence of a will; determination of heirship in absence of a will; probate of estates; powers of attorney for financial and medical decisions if a person becomes incapacitated; and Medicaid planning to qualify for Medicaid and preserve assets from Medical Recovery Claims. Grief Support Retreat

Sacred Heart Catholic Church Family Center located at 306 S. Glendale in Hallettsville will host a Grief Support Retreat on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.). Snacks and lunch will be provided. Coping with the death of a child is difficult and this gathering will give you the opportunity to listen to other parents whose children have died. Republican Party District Meeting

Republican Party Senate District 18 Chairpersons will host their second quarter district-wide meeting on Saturday, April 15, at the Texas A&M AgriLife building, 255 Svoboda Ln., in La Grange. Speakers throughout the day will focus on the topic “Advocating for Our Children.” Additionally, Senator Kolkhorst and all Republican House Representatives in SD18 have been invited and will attend as their legislative duties allow. Registration is from 8-9 a.m. The meeting will start at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. A light lunch will be provided. There is no charge to attend but RSVPs are requested for planning purposes. Artist Reception and Awards

Pastel Society of Southeast Texas and Arts for Rural Texas bring the beauty of pastels to international artists and collectors. The Artists’ Reception and Awards Presentation will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 4-6 p.m. The exhibition can be viewed from April 15 to May 27 at the ARTS Ross Gallery in Fayetteville. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday.

Bingo for Seniors

Bingo for seniors will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, April 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. 60 and older plus guests are welcome. $5 card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips, snacks and drinks will be available for freewill donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment. Money collected will be used for purchase of prizes and other expenses.

The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life will be meeting on Monday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.

VFW Post 5254 & Auxiliary

A light meal and meetings will be held by the La Grange Fayette Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5254 and Auxiliary on Tuesday, April 18, at the VFW Home at the Fairgrounds in La Grange. Meeting time for the VFW Auxiliary is 5 p.m. A joint VFW and Auxiliary light meal will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the VFW Post meeting. New potential members are invited to attend.

Winedale Lunch & Learn

Winedale Lunch and Learn will present Dr. LeAnna Schooley, Director of the Center for Texas Studies at TCU. She will discuss early sightseeing in Texas from 1836 to 1916. This zoom talk will be on Tuesday, April 18 at noon. E-mail tricia.blakistone@ austin.utexas.edu for a link to this talk.

Parkinson’s Support Group Meeting The Parkinson’s Support Group of Fayette and surrounding counties will hold their monthly meeting on April 20 in the Randolph Recreation Center on Pearl St. in the large meeting room across the courtyard from the usual meeting room by the gym. Meeting begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. Guest presenter will be Debbie Mackay, a former hospice employee. She will speak on hospice services and anticipatory grief. During her time as an employee of an area agency specializing in services for the ill with special needs, her job description emphasized that she was a speaker representing the agency. She will be well-qualified to share some of the benefits provided by hospice of which we are not aware. The members of our group have been invited to join the Senior Citizens’ group that meets monthly at the Randolph Center for a catered luncheon. For more details, call (832) 5611447.
