Muldoon Museum

Fish Fry/Bake Sale

The Hostyn/Plum annual scholarship fish fry and bake sale will be held Friday, March 31 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the La Grange KC Community Center. Drivethru only meal will consist of fried fish, buttered potatoes, pinto beans, and cole slaw. Plates are $14. All funds from the bake sale and fish fry benefit the Hostyn/Plum Scholarship Fund. Ths is the last Lenten fish fry.

Muldoon Museum

The Muldoon Museum will be open for visitors on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rail Museum

Join the Flatonia Rail Museum Saturday, April 1 at the Tommy Shults Pavilion for its annual Railfan Gathering. All train enthusiasts are welcome. Come watch and talk all about trains. The pavilion is located about 1/2 mile west of downtown at the junction of the Union Pacific. The pavilion is always open, handicap accessible, and covered making it an excellent spot to watch trains no matter the weather. There will be fresh coffee and donuts at the pavilion starting at 9 a.m. and activities will end around 3 p.m. Several raffle prizes will also be given out.

Beekeepers Assoc. Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, April 1, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For new beekeepers, there will be a Beekeeping 101 presentation starting at 4:30 p.m. and it will be a great opportunity to meet up with experienced beekeepers who can serve as mentors and advisors. A potluck dinner will follow, and guests are welcome to bring their favorite sides/desserts. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, an open discussion on bee-things, and possible guest presentation. Membership dues for 2023 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend the meeting, FaycoBeeks welcomes all new members and especially encourages young beekeepers and their families to join. Regular meetings are the first Saturday of evennumbered months (April, June, etc.) Visit faycobeeks.org.

Hermann Sons Life Meeting

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. The meal will consist of potato pancakes and sausage. Members are asked to bring a side or dessert for the meal.

La Grange Garbage Schedule

La Grange City offices will be closed Friday, April 7, in observance of Good Friday. Waste Management will be working their normal garbage schedule. If you need additional information, call (979) 968-3127.

Pagel Cemetery Clean-Up Day

The Pagel Cemetery Association will have a General Cleanup/ Decoration Day at the Pagel Cemetery in Willow Springs on Saturday, April 8 beginning at 9 a.m. Anyone who needs additional information should contact Rebecca Rabon at (713) 3712319 or email RebeccaRabon@gmail.com.

Fayette County Gun Club

The Fayette County Gun Club will host a Flash Miller fun shoot on Saturday, April 22 beginning at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Shotgun, rifle, and pistol. Open to the public. Call (979) 484-7177 for more information.

LG Noon Lions Club Guest Speakers The La Grange Noon Lions meet on Thursdays at 12 noon until 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in La Grange. The following is the April schedule of speakers: April 6, Gene Oeding, Muldoon Minerals; April 13, Kyle Cooper, new La Grange ISD Athletic Director; April 20, Ladonna Boyd, Bluebonnet Trails; and April 27, Sally Garrett, Fayette County AgriLife Extension Agent, Diabetes Awareness.

Fayetteville ISD Transfer Students Fayetteville ISD will be accepting applications for out of district transfer students from March 27 through June 29. Applications can be found on the school website at www.fayettevilleisd.net.
