Harry Potter Night

Mark your calendars for some family fun this October at the Fayette Public Library located at 855 S. Jefferson in La Grange. Join the library for Harry Potter Night with special guest, the Sam Houston State University Quidditch team on Thursday, Oct. 20 beginning at 4-6 p.m. Join them again for a Hocus Pocus Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 27 from 4-6 p.m. Stop by the library today and sign up for the Hocus Pocus pumpkin decorating contest. VFW & Auxiliary

A light meal and meetings will be held by the La Grange Fayette Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post No. 5254 and Auxiliary on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the VFW Home in La Grange. Meeting time for the VFW Auxiliary is 5 p.m. then a light meal will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the VFW Post meeting. New potential members are invited to attend.

Christian Fellowship

Fayette County Republican Women

The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting onThursday, Oct. 20 at the La Grange City Hall, 155 E. Colorado in La Grange. Guest speaker will be Zack Ezer, Fayette County Republican Party Vice Chair and a firearms industry manufacturers’ representative. He will inform those in attendance on “automatic” weapons, accessories, and ammunition specifically, those that the Biden administration is attempting to ban from sales and confiscate from law-abiding citizens. LHS Class of 1961 Reunion

The 1961 graduating class of La Grange High School will have a belated 60th (actual 61th) reunion on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in La Grange. Sunset Shopping in Schulenburg

Save the date for “Sunset Shopping in Schulenburg on Nov. 5, the first Saturday of the month. Join Schulenburg businesses from 4-8 p.m. for an evening of fun, fellowship and early Christmas shopping with discounts. Refreshments are being served at selected locations. Each purchase will earn raffle tickets for a gift basket drawing at Jack and Mary’s at 8:45 p.m.
