The Central Texas Food truck has changed their delivery date for Fayetteville. The next delivery will be Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 10-11 a.m. This will replace the 1st Thursday date from previous distribution. Inform your friends of the change.

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. The meal served will be sloppy joes. Members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.

The Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will serve their annual turkey and dressing supper with homemade dressing, noodles, broccoli with cheese sauce, cranberry sauce and a roll Thursday, Oct. 6 at the KC Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. Places are $14 until sold out. Plates to go available from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Drivers are asked to enter on Water St. to Milam and exit on Brown St. Call (979) 968-5117 in advance for orders over 10 plates.

The Rose, a mobile mammography program, is coming to Fayette County Nov. 10 and will be offering low to no cost mammograms to qualified individuals. Early detection mammogram screenings are the most powerful weapons in the fight against breast cancer. The Rose mobile unit addresses many barriers, such as costs, which might keep a woman from delaying these preventive services. Bluebonnet Trails Community Services and the Fayette County Extension Office are assisting in providing information, paperwork, and scheduling of appointments. There’s more Colorado Valley Telephone Cooperative and Fayette Electric Cooperative will host their fifth annual document shred day for members on Friday, Oct. 7 in conjunction with National Cooperative Month. The free document shredding will be available from 10 a.m. until noon at Fayette Electric located at 357 N. Washington St. in La Grange, and from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Colorado Valley Telephone located at 4915 South US Hwy. 77, La Grange. Calvary Baptist Church located at 650 Ellinger Rd. in La Grange is having a fund raising garage sale for maintenance and repair on the church. The sale days will be Oct. 7 and 8 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. No early shoppers.

The Ellinger Walkers will be having a bake sale for Relay for Life on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Hruska’s beginning at 7 a.m. until 12 noon.

64th Woppenkamp Family Reunion

Buckner’s Creek WMA annual meeting will be held Saturday,

St. James BBQ & Bake Sale

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club will hold a barbecue and the women will hold a bake sale Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $5 and a sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of the Parents as Teachers organization.

Fireman’s Feast in Ledbetter

The Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating 75 years Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Ledbetter Firemen’s Park 4-6 p.m. bingo 5-7 p.m. Fried chicken dinner $12 per plate. A live auction starts at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Ledbetter VFD and desserts will be sold by the Homemaker’s Club. Round Top Hermann Sons will have a country store.

The Plum Hermann Sons Life meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 10 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Prairie Valley Schoolhouse located at 2510 Williams Rd. in West Point. The meal and dessert will be provided by the Lodge.

Sages & Saints will present a performance by Juan Carlos on Thursday, Oct. 13 at First United Methodist Church, 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange, from 5-7 p.m. Bring your favorite Mexican dish pot luck and come for food and felllowship.

Difficult Behaviors Workshop

Turtle Wing is underwriting a workshop on Oct. 13 from 6-8 p.m. at the Norma Webb Center in La Grange. Presenter La Keisha Moore (Psychotherapist and owner of Guiding Hearts Counseling, PLLC) will be discussing how to better understand the cause of difficult behaviors as well as learn positive behavioral management strategies. Classroom tools to help manage behavior will also be shared. This workshop is open to daycare staff, teachers, parents, and anyone else who may be interested. Heritage Festival and Muziky

The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center located at 250 West Fairgrounds Rd. in La Grange will celebrate the 125th Anniversary of SPJST. on Friday, Oct. 14 from 4-10 p.m. Enjoy chicken and dumplings and music from 6 to 9:30 p.m. with the Dujka Brothers. On Saturday, Oct. 15 opening ceremony at 11 a.m. enjoy train rides, antique tractor and car show and Satuday night fireworks finale.

LHS Class of 1960 Reunion

The 1960 graduating class of La Grange High School will have a belated 60th (actual 62nd) reunion on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Sealand Restaurant in La Grange. Swing and Blast

The 4th annual Swing and Blast presented by Cavender Auto Country will be held Oct. 18 at The Big Easy Ranch located at 2400 Brunes Mill Rd. in Columbus. The golf tournament and clay shoot is a fundraiser for The Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley.
