The Colorado Valley Independent Cattlemen’s Association (CVICA) fundraiser will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18 at the La Grange KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. The meal consists of chicken fried steak with brown gravy, buttered noodles, green beans, corn and a roll. Drive thru plates to go will be served from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. Plates are $12. Proceeds will go towards awarding scholarships to graduating students in Fayette, Lee and Colorado counties. Call the KC Hall to reserve your plates at (979) 968-5117.
The monthly meeting of the Fayette County Parkinson’s Support Group will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, in the original meeting room in the Randolph Rec. Center. This is next to the gym, on the east side where all the handicapped parking spaces are located. The program will feature a video on sleep and Parkinson’s Disease; we will discuss this and save time for personally sharing our summertime experiences. Anyone who is interested in finding out more about this demanding ailment is welcome to attend. Caregivers are especially encouraged to join our group. Republican Women Meeting
The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18 at La Grange City Hall, 155 E. Colorado in La Grange. The speaker will be Brandon Walton with Texas Scorecard. Central Texas Food Bank Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction FM-1291 and FM-2145 on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. til 11 a.m. It will be drive-thru only and all clients are to remain in their vehicles. Someone will be there to direct traffic. Clients are advised to make room inside their car trunks and truck beds. Food boxes will be pre-packaged and placed into each vehicle by volunteers.
CDA No. 1962 Meeting
Court Annunciation No. 1962, La Grange will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 22 at the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewcz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend and prospective members are always welcome.

CPR & AED Training
The Round Top Family Library will be offering CPR and AED training for adults 16 years and older. The instructor is Mark Woelfel. This takes place on Saturday, Aug. 27 beginning at 9 a.m. until noon.
