Hermann Sons Life

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will meet for their regular monthly meeting Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. The lodge will furnish chili dogs and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.

Food Truck

The Central Texas Food Bank truck will be in Fayetteville on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. John’s Hall. It is a drive-thru distribution with clients remaining in their vehicle.

Family Reunion

All relatives and descendants of Andreas Kappler, Agnes Groeschel Kappler, John Ernst Berger, and Anna Wukasch Berger are invited to attend a family reunion at the Holy Cross Church Hall on Saturday, Aug.6 beginning at 10 a.m. A meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. Please bring enough food for your family. Paper goods, tea, and coffee will be provided by the reunion. Bring your own soft drinks and beer. Donation for beer provided will be taken.There is a playground for the children.Please notify all relatives and bring any addresses, pictures, family documents, and information to share with each other. Habitat Home Supply Hours

Habitat Home Supply will be open to shoppers Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at 825 N. Main St. in Schulenburg.

FaycoBeeks Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. This will be a special meeting with a honey contest where the top three best tasting honeys will be chosen from samples brought to the meeting. The meeting will start at 4:30 p.m. with Beekeeping 101 for new beekeepers. A potluck dinner will follow at 5:30 p.m. and guests are welcome to bring their favorite sides/desserts. Honey judging will start 6:30 p.m. More information on the honey contest can be found on the FaycoBeeks facebook page. Regular meetings are the first Saturday of even-numbered months (August, October, etc.). If you’d like to join FaycoBeeks, membership is $25/year (individual or family). Membership is not required to attend the meeting. FaycoBeeks especially encourages young beekeepers and their families to join. More information on FaycoBeeks can be found at faycobeeks.org.

Josef and Anna Mares-Mica Reunion

The Josef and Anna Mares-Mica family reunion will be held at the Flatonia Civic Center on Sunday, Aug. 7 beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bring your favorite main dish or dessert. Tea and dinnerware will be provided. Bring an item for the silent auction. A picture will be taken following the noon meal.

La Grange Show Fund Meeting

The La Grange Show Fund will be having their first meeting of the year. Anyone interested in participating is welcome. The meeting will be held at the AgriLife Extension office on Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Women’s Action Guild Meeting

The monthly Monday Women’s Action Guild (WAG) meetings will continue on Aug. 8. The meeting will be at 5:30 at FUMC (Flatonia United Methodist Church), 403 East North Main Street, in Newman Hall. LHS Class of 1960 Reunion Meeting

Members of the 1960 graduation class of La Grange High School are invited to a meeting to plan a “60th” class reunion. Such meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at the Sealand Restaurant in La Grange. All interested class members are urged to attend this meeting. Ladies Event at First Baptist

Priscilla Shirer will Simulcast a ladies event Sept. 24 beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church in La Grange. Lunch will be provided and childcare is limited. Poker Tournament

The Fayetteville Show Fund is sponsoring a Poker Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Heh Remember When in Fayetteville. Sign up is from 6-7 p.m. The cost is $40 per play.
