Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will meet for their regular monthly meeting Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. The lodge will furnish chili dogs and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.
FaycoBeeks
The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. This will be a special meeting with a honey contest where the top three best tasting honeys will be chosen from samples brought to the meeting. The meeting will start at 4:30 p.m. with Beekeeping 101 for new beekeepers. A potluck dinner will follow at 5:30 p.m. and guests are welcome to bring their favorite sides/desserts. Honey judging will start 6:30 p.m. More information on the honey contest can be found on the FaycoBeeks facebook page. Regular meetings are the first Saturday of even-numbered months (August, October, etc.). If you’d like to join FaycoBeeks, membership is $25/year (individual or family). Membership is not required to attend the meeting. FaycoBeeks especially encourages young beekeepers and their families to join. More information on FaycoBeeks can be found at faycobeeks.org.
Assistance with Online Ticketing
LGISD is here to help and plans to facilitate an online ticket buying workshop to show those that need assistance creating an account, how to buy tickets online for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. The event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 8-9 a.m. in the LGISD Boardroom located at 560 North Monroe. One-on-one assistance will be available using district laptops and those that participate will leave the workshop knowing exactly what to do regarding online ticketing for future events. Dinner and Dancing
St. Paul Lutheran Church and Shared Lutheran Ministries will present dinner and dancing under the stars on Saturday, Aug. 6 at Carby Chapel Lutherhill located at 3782 Lutherhill Rd. in La Grange. Serving begins at 6 p.m. Enjoy a fried chicken meal with scalloped potatoes, green beans and corn for a free will offering. Dine in is preferred. Enjoy a dessert table and a live auction plus music provided by The Back Porch Boys at 7 p.m. BYOB and coffee and tea is provided. All proceeds benefiting Lutherhill Ministries. Church members are asked to bring cakes or desserts for the meal.
Isaac Hill Cemetery Assoc. Meeting
The annual meeting of the Isaac Hill Cemetery Association will be held on Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. Plan on attending if you own a plot, have family buried there, or you are a concerned friend of a family. Questions or concerns may be directed to Gary Pior, president, at (281) 610-3221.
