Texas Exes Thirsty
Fayette County Chapter of Texas Exes invites all longhorn fans to Thirsty Thursday and will feature the 2022-2023 Scholarship Awardees. Come and meet these fantastic young Longhorns and send them off with a personal “Hook‘Em” on Thursday, July 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Oaks at High Hill, 1800 Bruno Rd. in Schulenburg. All Longhorn fans are welcome. Members, non-members, those thinking about becoming members, or even those that just really like UT are welcome. Come enjoy some great food and cold beverages with other Longhorn fans.
LG Noon Lions
Gavin Miculka, Kriesche Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites Assistant Manager, will be the guest speaker during the Thursday, July 28 meeting of the La Grange Noon Lions Club at 12 noon until 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in La Grange.
RT Hermann Sons
This month’s meeting of the Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge No. 151 will be Thursday, July 28 at the Quade-Werchan American Legion Post at Round Top beginning at 6 p.m. with a social time. The meeting will begin at 6:30 with a meal to follow. This month the members are asked to bring sandwiches, sides or desserts to share.
Choral Workshop at St. James Episcopal
All area singers are invited to an all-day, free choral workshop led by the accomplished Artistic Director and Conductor of Houston Masterworks Chorus, Dr. Paulo Gomes.This is a rare chance to expand your knowledge of choral singing techniques and to meet fellow singers. Assistance with Online Ticketing
LGISD is here to help and plans to facilitate an online ticket buying workshop to show those that need assistance creating an account, how to buy tickets online for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. The event will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 8-9 a.m. in the LGISD Boardroom located at 560 North Monroe. One-on-one assistance will be available using district laptops and those that participate will leave the workshop knowing exactly what to do regarding online ticketing for future events. Isaac Hill Cemetery Assoc. Meeting
The annual meeting of the Isaac Hill Cemetery Association will be held on Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. Plan on attending if you own a plot, have family buried there, or you are a concerned friend of a family. Questions or concerns may be direced to Gary Pior, president, at (281) 610-3221.
Queen of the Holy Rosary Church Benefit
The community of La Grange is organizing a benefit concert for Queen of the Holy Rosary Church on Sunday, Aug. 14 at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown to aid in the rebuilding of the Hostyn Church. A social hour begins at 3 p.m. with a concert following from 4 to 6 p.m. featuring James Dick, New Soul Invaders, Ruby McGuill and a community choir.
