Two football camps are being offered, July 20-22 beginning at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Leopard Stadium. Price is $40 and is for ages 3rd grade through 8th. For more information, contact Coach Kates. Camp for incoming 9th graders is July 27-29 beginning at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Price is $40.

The Parkinson Group of Fayette County will meet Thursday, July 21 at 10 a.m. in the Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange. Open Mic Night

Fayette County Community Theatre is continuing Open Mic Nights every third Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the FCCT Box Office and Studio at 120 S. Washington St., La Grange. The next one is July 21. Bring your musical, comedic, or dramatic talent to share, or enjoy the talents of others.

LG Varsity Football Season Tickets

La Grange Leopard Varsity Football reserved season ticket sales for 2022 varsity football reserved season ticket holders from the 2021 season may purchase reserved tickets at the La Grange ISD Administration Building, 560 N. Monroe, beginning July 18 through July 28, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost of each season ticket is $50. Current reserved season tickets that are not claimed during this window will be released for sale to the public. Reserved season tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at the La Grange ISD Administration Building. Chair back reserved seating is available for a one-time fee of $250 plus the cost of the season ticket, with every season thereafter being the cost of the season ticket only. Bench back reserved seats are available for $50 each. General admission football and all home sporting event tickets will be sold online only at www.Hometown.com.

La Grange Noon Lions Club Meeting

Dr. Andy McHazlett, LGISD Superintendent, will be speaking at the La Grange Noon Lions Club meeting on Thursday, July 21 from noon to 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in La Grange.

Republican Women Special Meeting

Fayette County Republican Women are hosting a special meeting Thursday, July 21 at 6 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange. The guest speaker will be Treniss Evans, a Texas man with close ties to the Jan. 6 cases. Frisch Auf! will have a dinner buffet available to all attendees (Dutch treat). Kreische Brewery Nature Hour

Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites will be providing fun, outdoor ecological activities for families Thursday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Discover and explore the unique natural environment on the Bluff through our nature trail scavenger hunt. Hermann Sons Life

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville is having their member family fun night on Saturday, July 23 at 5:30 p.m. A fried fish meal will be served and a free will donation is appreciated. Members are asked to bring snacks or desserts. Their is also a silent auction and members are asked to bring items for the auction.

Jamboree Celebration in Moulton

The 11th annual community jamboree will be held Wednesday, July 27 hosted by Zion Luthern Church in Moulton. Christan music concert featuring Blended Blessings at 5:30 p.m. Worship service at 6:30 p.m. and potluck and ice cream social following the service. Round Top Family Library Kids

The library will host the ocean dance party for kids on Thursday, July 28 fom 2:30 until 5 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall 710 FM 1457 in Round Top. Drop off and pick up. This is a free event. DJ Kountry Chick will rock us on the ocean floor. Enjoy the fun family dance. Snacks and drinks will be served.

LHS Class of 1980 Reunion

The LHS class of 1980 will be meeting at Jay Deez Bar and Grill Friday, July 29 at 7 p.m. Dutch treat. Everyone is welcome. Main event will be Saturday, July 30 at Ruttersville Sons of Herman Hall at 4 p.m. This will be potluck covered dish meal. Bring your favorite recipe and favorite beverage. Camp Lone Star BBQ & Auction

Michael Meissner, pastor of LifeBridge Church in Cypress, and Executive Director of a non-profit ministry, Abba’s House, will be the featured speaker at the Annual Barbecue Worship service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 31 at Camp Lone Star’s La Grange campus. All persons from the area are invited. In addition to the service, the day kicks off with special music at 10:30 a.m. from the summer staff, and includes the traditional barbecue dinner at noon with noodles and all the trimmings. Drive-thru barbecue plates can also be purchased for $10 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Live and silent benefit auctions follow from 1-3 p.m. indoors in the camp’s Koop Center. The auction is one of the main events which support Camp Lone Star each year. Last year more than $103,000 was raised thanks to dedicated friends and the local community.

TWL Grant Application

Since 2004, the Texas Women’s League has distributed more than $1,400,000 to over seventy qualifying non-profit organizations located in or providing services for Fayette County. To qualify for funding, organizations must be located in or provide services for Fayette County, in existence for at least one year, certified non-profit organization, and hold a current 501(c)(3) designation by the I.R.S. The 2022-2023 online grant application will be available Aug. 1.
