AMEN Schedule
The AMEN Food Pantry will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day and will open Tuesday, July 5 at 9 a.m. for food distribution.
July 4 Celebration
A July 4th celebration will be held on Saturday, July 2 at the Muldoon Community Park. The parade will start at 9:30 a.m. from the Baptist Church and will continue across the railroad tracks to the park and back again to the church. Following the parade, a live and silent auction will be held to raise funds for the Community Park. The Muldoon Museum will also have a fundraiser basket to be auctioned. A pot luck lunch will follow. The Muldoon Museum will be open starting at 8:30 a.m. After the noon meal, it will reopen for visitors. For more information, call Virginia Boehnke at (830) 839-4527.
Hermann Sons
Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting Wednesday, July 6 at 7 p.m. The meal will be fajitas and members are asked to bring a side or dessert.
Zwahr Benefit
Zwahr Memorial Benefit Meal on Saturday, July 9, at the KC Hall in La Grange. $15 per ticket. BBQ pork dinner with buttered potatoes, green beans, bread, and tea. Plates are dine in or take out only (no drive thru). Doors open at 5 p.m. with meal at 6 p.m. There will be music, and both silent and live auctions. Healthy Cooking Class
The Round Top Family Library will host a healthy cooking class on Saturday, July 9 beginning at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the library annex 208 W. Mill St. This is a free class. Vacation Bible School
First United Methodist Church in La Grange invites children in K-5th grade to join for VBS on Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Parents can register online at https://www.lgfumc.org or by calling the church at (979) 968-8323. Transportation provided upon request. A full lunch will be provided and families are invited to eat with their VBS children. This year’s theme is Glow in the Dark. Kids learn life can sometimes be scary, but it’s nothing the light of Jesus can’t fix.
