Feed the Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Republican Women

The Fayette County Republican Women are co-hosting three viewings of the Dinesh D’Souza film “2,000 Mules” at the Lyric Theater, 120 E. South Main St. in Flatonia. The film documents the massive data research that True the Vote performed in relation to the 2020 elections, exposing large scale illegal vote harvesting in several of the large cities whose votes determined the outcome of the Presidential election. There will be three showings: Friday, June 24, at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door but reservations for seating are required. Vacation Bible School

St. Paul Lutheran Church of La Grange invites children of the community who have completed kindergarten through fifth grades to Vacation Bible School, June 27 through July 1 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The day camp will be led by a very energetic Lutherhill staff. Lessons, games, arts and crafts, music and snacks will fill the day. Stop by the church office at 427 S. Washington to pick up a registration form.

Ledbetter Community Game Day

Game Day will be Tuesday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults of all ages are invited for a time of games, visiting with neighbors, and a delicious lunch. Game day will consist of board games, table games, card games, and domino games. Everyone is invited to the Ledbetter Community Center at 301 W. Labadie St. (the Ledbetter Fire Dept.) in Ledbetter. The event is sponsored by Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department and Soul Café. Lunch is $5 per person. Blood Drive in Honor of Kuntschik

A blood drive will be held Wednesday, June 29 from 9 a.m until 6 p.m. at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange in honor of Velene Kuntschik, for her many years of service and volunteering with the blood drive. Please eat a full meal before donating. You can also email Craig at cwellborn@weareblood.org to get signed up. Walk-ins are welcome.

Texas Exes and Longhorn Fans

The Fayette County Chapter of Texas Exes invites all Longhorn fans to the Round Top Brewing and Kitchen located at 101 W. Austin in Round Top on Thursday, June 30 from 6 until 9 p.m. Come and enjoy great food and cold beverages with other Longhorn fans. This is for members, non-members, those thinking about becoming a member and those that just like UT.

Pavilion Open House

Come check out the Oliver Whitener-Roy Winkler Pavilions for your next party, reunion, reception, Thursday, June 30 from 4-6 p.m. The Texas Cotton Gin Museum will host a come and go open house with light refreshments. The pavilion is newly expanded and includes lighting, electricity, a stage, picnic tables and restrooms. And of course, what better backdrop to your event than the 1914 Burton Farmers Gin, the oldest operating cotton gin left in America. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, all proceeds from rentals preserve this historic structure and continue the museum’s mission to share the history of cotton and cotton ginning. Comedy Tour July 2

A special St. Cecilia’s Summertime Event. ‘The Laugh Often and Fear Not’ Comedy Tour and St. Cecilia’s present ‘A Time to Laugh’ featuring Rev. David Dandy from Las Vegas. Saturday July 2 at 5:45 p.m. Haw Creek Chapel, Henkel Square, Round Top. Open to the public. All donations will go to the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter.

Heinsohn Family Reunion

The reunion for the descendants of Diedrich and Anna Marie Rodefeld Heinsohn will be held July 17 at the parish hall at Hostyn near La Grange, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. A catered meal will be served this year by Alley’s Bar-B-Que and Catering from Moulton. The meal will consist of chicken, sausage, giblet rice, and cole slaw. A number of plates for your family will be needed for an accurate count. The cost is $10.25 per plate and payment is due to Dawn Heinsohn by July 1. Make check payable to Heinsohn Family Reunion, 10118 Laurie Ln., Highlands, TX 77562. Extra plates will be available. Bring a favorite dessert to share if you want to. The food will be served at noon. Paper goods, eating utensils, iced tea and coffee will be provided. Camp Shakespeare

University of Texas Shakespeareans have set up camp in Fayette County and are well underway exploring Shakespeare’s As You Like It and Macbeth. Camp Shakespeare is a junior version of the University of Texas Shakespeare at Winedale program, offering two twoweek sessions per summer for 11-16 year olds. Each play will have three public performances.
