FWS Meeting
Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Road in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.
Ellinger Hermann Sons
The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life Lodge will be meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at the Ellinger Fire Station.
Food Drive For Amen Food Pantry
The KJT Society No. 46, La Grange Society, is holding a Drop Off Food Drive for the AMEN Food Pantry of La Grange. The drive will be from Monday, June 20, to Friday, June 24, with four drop off locations around La Grange. Drop off tables can be found at the KJT Home Office, Fayette Savings-La Grange Branch, Round Top State Bank-La Grange Branch, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Help support the fight for hunger in our community.
Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Meeting
Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau quarterly meeting will be held on June 21 at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. Meals will no longer be provided but can be purchased at the restaurant at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Scott Willey, Fayette County Agricultural Extension Agent. Meetings will begin at 7 p.m. All Farm Bureau members are invited to attend.
VFW, Auxiliary Meeting
Fayette Memorial VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 21, at the VFW Home in La Grange. The Auxiliary will meet at 5 p.m. and the VFW Post will meet at 6 p.m. No social to be held.
RT Hermann Sons Life Meeting
This month’s meeting of the Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge No. 151 will be on Thursday, June 23 at the Quade-Werchan American Legion Post at Round Top beginning at 6 p.m. with a social time. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a meal to follow. This month the Lodge will provide “sloppy joe” sandwiches for the meal and members are asked to bring sides or dessrts to share. Shakespeare Returns to the Country
After a two-year recess for COVID, University of Texas Shakespeareans have set up camp in Fayette County and are well underway exploring Shakespeare’s As You Like It and Macbeth. Camp Shakespeare is a junior version of the University of Texas Shakespeare at Winedale program, offering two two-week sessions per summer for 11-16 year olds. Each play will have three public performances. As You Like It: Friday, June 24 3:30 p.m., Crystal Theater, Gonzales; Saturday, June 25 3 p.m., La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center; and Sunday, June 26 2 p.m., For reservations, call (830) 460-1221 or (979) 249 7125. Vacation Bible School
St. Paul Lutheran Church of La Grange invites children of the community who have completed kindergarten through fifth grades to Vacation Bible School, June 27 through July 1 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The day camp will be led by a very energetic Lutherhill staff. Lessons, games, arts and crafts, music and snacks will fill the day. Stop by the church office at 427 S. Washington to pick up a registration form.
