Fair Plant Exhibit
Bright blooms and lush greenery will be taking the stage at this year’s Fayette County Fair, Labor Day Weekend. The Flower and plant exhibit will bring a vibrant botanical air to the Creative Arts Building. All gardening enthusiasts and nature lovers are invited to enter their prize plant(s). The Fair theme is Celebrate America 250. Decorate your pots with red white and blue. The plants and the decorated pots will be judged. There are prizes for youth and adults divisions. A La Grange Community blood drive will be held Wednesdasy, Aug. 19 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 190 S. Brown St., beginning at 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Eat a full meal before donating and remember to bring your photo ID. Schedule at weareblood.org/donor with group code: DO31.
KJZT Meeting
The quarterly meeting of KJZT St Anne’s Society No. 10 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Parish Hall. Lunch and social time will follow the meeting. Members are invited to bring food to share.

Shoot With The Vets
The Columbus Chapter of the Vietnam Vets of America will be holding a Sporting Clay event in La Grange on Saturday, Aug. 22. Put together a team and come shoot. CDA No. 1962 Meeting
The CDA Court Annunciation #1962 of La Grange & Plum will hold their first meeting of the 2026-2027 year on Monday, Aug. 24, in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange. A Social provided by the Court Officers for all members to enjoy will begin at 6 p.m. The meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. Members are invited to attend and new members are always welcome.
Support Groups At Crosspoint
Crosspoint Community Church will begin offering several support groups starting on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Groups include DivorceCare, for those going through separation or divorce; GriefShare, offering comfort, care and support for those experiencing loss; Life’s Healing Choices, for those walking through recovery; and Fully Funded Life, which helps participants learn how to better manage their finances. Senior Citizens Event
The Fayette County Fair Association Senior Citizens event will take place Thursday, Sept. 3 at the KC Hall in La Grange, 190 S. Brown St., from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The fair theme is Celebrating America’s Birthday. There will be drinks, music, dancing, a meal and door prizes. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in advance at Mr. Starch (the former Farmers Lumber Co. building at 150 N. Jackson in La Grange), Orsak’s in Fayetteville, or at the door on the day of the event. This is for folks 65 and older.
NewLife Methodist Mother’s Day Out NewLife Methodist Church in La Grange will host New Mother’s Day Out on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:30-11:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 8. Class for 2-year-olds (by Sept. 1) and a class for 3-year-olds (by Sept. 1) will be available. Monthly tuition is $240 with a $50 registration fee. You are invited to visit classrooms and facilities on Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on both days. Celebrate Recovery at Bridge Church Join us every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Building at 3007 Cedar Creek Drive for Celebrate Recovery a Christ-centered program designed to help individuals heal from hurts, habits, and hang-ups. The evening begins with worship and a lesson or testimony in the large group, followed by genderspecific small groups for sharing in a safe, supportive environment. Grief Group Being Offered
Hospice Brazos Valley is offering a new grief group for anyone who is grieving. This can be for any human grief, i.e. parent, grandparent, sibling, best friend, and the ones that HBV already offers, spouse, child. This support group will meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Hospice Brazos Valley office, 1048 N Jefferson, La Grange. Proper Flag Disposal Drop Off Locations
The Texas Heroes Museum located at 171 S. Main in La Grange accepts old flags for proper disposal. The drop-off bin is inside the museum which is open 1-4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. If leaving flags outside the door when the museum is closed, please have them in a plastic bag or a box so that they are not laying on the ground.
