The Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Hostyn received a $5,000 donation from theAustin Knights of Columbus Council No. 10333 to help with the reconstruction of the Church that was destroyed by an explosion and fire in June 2022.

The donation was made on Sunday, May 7, at the conclusion of the Sunday Mass which was held in a tent in the Church parking lot. The Church was having its May Fest picnic that day and the parish hall, which is currently also being used as the temporary Church, was needed for the preparation and serving of the festival lunch.

Over the last year, the Austin KCs held several fundraising events such as barbecues and fish fry’s to raise funds for their charitable works and this special cause. Several KC No. 10333 members have ties to this area including Michael Kallus and Andy Rainosek, both formerly from Hostyn, Mark Zarsky, the great-nephew of former pastor Msgr. Joseph Pustka, and deceased member Derek Muras, son of parishioners Ivan and Monica Muras.
