Public Hearing on Proposed Plum Concrete Plant Feb. 15

Tex Mix Partners LLC of Leander wants to build a concrete plant on Old Plum Highway near Plum.

The facility would be located just east of Plum at 5715 Old Plum Highway. Tex Mix Partners applied for a air quality permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for a “concrete batch plant with enhanced controls.”

TCEQ will hold a public hearing on the permit at Hampton Inn in La Grange on February 15. The hearing starts at 6 p.m. The public hearing will begin with an informal discussion period during which members of the public can ask question of Tex Mix Partners and TCEQ about the project.

After the informal discussion, there will be a formal comment period. During that time, members of the public can submit formal comments for the official record. Written comments may also be submitted. A written response to all formal comments will be prepared by the executive director of TCEQ. The response will be published when TCEQ makes a decision about the application.

Under state law, TCEQ shall either approve or deny the application no later than 35 days after the public hearing.
