Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 31-April 6.

Assault

On March 31, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 500 block of West Avenue for an assault.

Accident

On April 6, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 700 block of Kessler regarding a private property crash between two 18 wheelers. Blue forms issued.

Animal Complaint

On April 1, Officer James Whited responded to the 1600 block of W. Hwy. 90 regarding a snake in the garage.

On April 2, Whited was dispatched to the 600 block of Bohlmann for a loose dog and the dog was taken to the shelter.

On April 2, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 200 block of August for a Border Collie dragging a chain running loose. Officer was unable to locate.

On April 3, Castilleja responded to the 900 block of Baumgarten regarding a horse in a back yard. Officer informed the complainant that horses were allowed in the back yard if it is not a Stallion.

On April 5, Whited was advised of a horse tied up and not able to get water in the 900 block of Baumgarten.

On April 5, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 900 block of Baumgarten about a horse with a short lead rope and no water. Officer arrived and found the scene to be as reported. Officer found dirty water about one inch deep for the horse and 20-30 chickens in a coop with very dirty water, about an 1/8 inch deep in two shallow pans. Officer had the owner clean all water pans and fill with clean water and let the chickens loose and let the horse run in the fenced in yard. Officer spoke to the owner and explained the issues.

On April 6, Krenek was dispatched to 1100 block of August in regard to residents two dogs fighting each other and resident needed help to separate them. Upon arrival, resident had the dogs apart by use of water from a hose.

Disturbance

On April 3, Officer Hailee Vincent while on the way to the jail was advised of a disturbance at Dollar General in the 89 block of Kessler.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On April 3, Vincent was dispatched to the 300 block of Schwartz for a woman being chased down by a white Dodge pick up truck.

Traffic Stop

On March 31, Vincent stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for driving without lights on when required. Driver was issued a warning.

On April 1, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of Kessler for a defective brake light. Driver was issued a citation for no insurance and a warning for defective equipment.

On April 1, Krenek stopped a driver at Summit and Kessler for disregarding a red-light. Driver issued a warning.

On April 1, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for an unregistered motor vehicle. Driver received a warning for unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle with unapproved sunscreening device.

On April 1, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Upton for defective stop light. Driver received a citation for no drivers’ license and a warning for defective stop light.

On April 1, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (12-23) Driver received a warning.

On April 1, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for a defective headlight. Driver received a warning for a defective headlight and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Driver received a citation for no insurance.

On April 2, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 91 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding and for no driver’s license and no insurance.

On April 3, Krenek stopped a driver at Kessler and Summit for disregarding a stop sign. Driver issued a citation.

On April 3, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 80 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, driver issued a citation.

On April 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 89 in a 75. Driver received a warning.

On April 5, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a warning and the passenger who owned the vehicle issued a citation for no insurance.

On April 5, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of N. Kessler going 34 in a 25. Driver issued a citation.

On April 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 94 in a 75. Driver issued a citation.

On April 6, Powe stopped a driver for expired registration (8-23) driver received a warning for expired registration and a citation for no insurance.

On April 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received a warning.

On April 6, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 600 block of W. I-10 going 94 in a 75. Driver received citations for speeding and no driver’s license and no insurance.

On April 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 87 in a 75. Driver received a citation.

On April 6, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (3-24). Driver received a warning.

Traffic Hazard

On April 1, Whited had a call of a reckless driver on I-10 traveling eastbound. 18-wheeler was swerving. Officer unable to locate.
