In the first of what will be a year’s worth of local events celebrating the 250th anniversary of America, the La Grange High School Drama Club along with playwright/actress Mary Margaret Mann performed “Rhapsody of Freedom” a look back at LaFayette’s role in American Independence. Fayette County is named after LaFayette and La Grange is named after LaFayette’s French castle Chateau de la Grange. Performances were held for the high school and middle school student bodies Wednesday with a public performance planned for Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. The local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution commissioned the event.
