Planning Underway for Ellinger VFD Annual Fundraiser

The annual Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser will be held on April 28 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall. Be on the lookout for raffle tickets and mark your calendars to come get a plate of delicious food on this day.

Shared Lutheran Ministry 

There will be a joint worship in Rutersville at St. John beginning at 10 a.m. on March 3. Please bring a covered dish for this potluck brunch. Think of your favorite hymn so you can request it during this “Favorite Hymn Sunday.” There will not be a church service at the other congregations on this day.

The next Wednesday service (March 6) will be in Fayetteville at St. Paul beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a soup supper. Service then at 6:30 p.m. Lenten offerings will be designated for AMEN. The topic for this service is titled “God’s Will and My Identity.” All are welcome.

St. John in Ellinger will have the monthly loose offering collection for the Discretionary Fund on Sunday, March 10.

On March 3, Sunday School will be in Rutersville at St. John from 3-5 p.m.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

LGISD 

The school will be out for spring break the week of March 11-15. They will return to school on March 18.

Daylight Savings Time 

Daylight Savings Time will begin on March 10, remember to turn your clocks one hour ahead when you go to bed on Saturday.

Hermann Sons 

There will be a volunteer workday at the camp in Comfort. Any and all are welcome on April 13 to get the camps ready for the summer. Lunch will be served. Contact Ian at (830) 995-3223 for more information or to let him know you will help.

Junior Livestock Show 

Come support the 4H and FFA youth of the county with their projects at the La Grange Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 23. The appreciation social will be held during the sale. The Buyer Registration will open at 12:30 p.m. followed by the beef heifer review and the ag mechanic review. The sale will then start at 2 p.m.
