The historic Pin Oak Cemetery Association will be meeting for its bi-annual clean up; pot luck and business meeting will be held on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 9 a.m. Everyone is asked to bring along their mowers, trimmers and yard tools to help maintain this historic cemetery. After the cleaning is finished a pot luck will be held followed by a short business meeting. There have been many improvements in recent years and now the association is working on updating family information on who is buried in the Pin Oak Cemetery. If you have family buried in Pin Oak or are interested in historic cemeteries come out and pitch in with the clean up.

Baby Shower

Dana and Darrell Kulak’s son and daughter in law, Elton and Miko Kulak, were treated to a family baby shower at the Muldoon Mercantile on Saturday April 1. The building was decorated with children’s books to encourage the baby to read. They received lots of wonderful gifts to help them get their baby off to a good start. Also driving in for the shower were Miko’s parents Fred and Sharon Anderson and Miko’s brother Alex. They got to enjoy all the beautiful wildflowers and get to visit with the family on Elton’s side.

Following the shower the Boehnke family then changed gears and celebrated Easter a week early, since they were all together. They had more food, games and just lots of fun catching up with each other.

New Granddaughter

Teresa Hutton is a grandmother again for the fourth time with the arrival of Sonny Jo Goertz on March 30 at the North Austin Medical Center. Sonny weighted in at six pounds six ounces and measured nineteen inches long. She is also the granddaughter to Mark Goertz of Rockne; and Dave and Sharon Smith of Sommerville. Sonny’s parents are Chad and Taylor Goertz of Rosanky.

Cowboy Church

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church (SG2C) got off on a great start. Their first Sunday in their new digs, the old Methodist Church by the park, was a total success. They had a great crowd come to check them out, sample some breakfast grub from the chuck wagon and worship in their new settings. What a blessing it was to see so many faces in this old church. If you missed it, plan on being there any Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts and then worship service at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to come and worship with SG2C any Sunday morning.

Wednesday nights will be hopping with the youth meeting for ROPE (Rely On Prayer Everyday) meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a great group for youth ages 13 and up to come learn more about Jesus and have fun doing it. Stray Gathering provides a meal and all the fun along with the knowledge of Christ a kid can handle.

SG2C is also preparing for a very special concert by Jackie Cox on April 30 at 10 a.m. Jackie is an award winning entertainer. He has had the song of the year, album of the year and male vocalist of the year to name a few of his accomplishments. Everyone is welcome and best of all it is free. A love offering will be taken for Jackie at the end to help defray his cost. Here’s the chance to come listen to some great music and enjoy some blessed fellowship.

Rain

At the time of this writing on Thursday morning Muldoon has been experiencing some strong thunderstorms with lighting and thunder and most importantly rain. At this point rain amounts were getting close to two inches of rain with more forecasted. This is some much needed moisture for sure.
