Pickup Crashes in Woods After Lengthy Pursuit
On Tuesday, March 21 at 11:25 p.m. Sgt. Ryan Meagher attempted to stop a 2017 silver Ford F-250 on Interstate 10 westbound near Flatonia. The vehicle was silver in color but the vehicle’s registration stated the vehicle was white.
The vehicle initially pulled over but as Meagher was approaching the vehicle sped off and evaded from Meagher. After a lengthy pursuit into Gonzales County, the vehicle intentionally crashed into the wood line.
It was determined the vehicle was displaying a fictitious license plate. A check of the vehicle’s VIN number showed the vehicle to be stolen out of Brazoria County, Texas. Deputy Chase Ceder along with Deputies from the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
Several suspected illegal immigrants fled from the vehicle into the woods near the intersection of FM 2814 and FM 420 in Gonzales County. The subjects are believed to be unarmed.
